SDSU has compacts with many San Diego area high schools that guarantees admission for students with a 3.0 or above, and who meet other admission criteria. As more and more students strive to reach this goal, I would think local compact acceptances would also be on the rise. This would lend itself to fewer acceptances for those outside the compact areas. If you are not from this area and got rejected, it may just be because of a higher rate of compact school acceptances.

denied. gpa 3.6 and SAT was 1710. wow.
but i did get on waitlist. even if this wasn't my first choice i'm pretty bummed.

I got accepted in-state as an International Security & Conflict Resolution major, but SDSU isn't my first choice.

GPA: 3.93
SAT: 1410 (720 CR, 690 M)

SDSU received a record number of applications this year, so I guess they raised the bar even higher. I think I read somewhere that at some point they might not allow people to apply for freshman status because there are so many people there.

Sorry to everyone who got rejected, but there are definitely other places to get a good education. :)

"SDSU has compacts with many San Diego area high schools that guarantees admission for students with a 3.0 or above, and who meet other admission criteria."

Wait, is this true?! No wonder every other person at my school winds up at SDSU! (I'm in SD, if you didn't notice)

I got accepted too back in late december. Instate student but I'm not from the San Diego Area.
majoring in graphic design, but I haven't decided whether to really go there yet. I hear lots of bad stuff about this school, like the school has a lot of students who party and are not too intelligent. But I'm not sure if that is true.

I'm deciding between cal poly pomona or sdsu. anybody have any suggestions?

I'm going to go to the open house at sdsu tomorrow. I've never visited the campus. I guess I can make my final choice then. I'll post up some of my thoughts about the sdsu after the trip for those of you who are unsure whether it is a good school.

anywho..sorry for those of you that were denied.
you guys have really high gpa's and Sat scores. most of them are higher than mines actually.
did most of you get denied because you applied to business?
that school is really competitive at sdsu..

hi..
