This thread makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

That's the intent! Gonna take a while to wipe that smile off your face, heh? :D

I was accepted to Smith! Yay! I'm more surprised than elated. I seriously thought that I wouldn't get in. I'm soo happy.

Csg1200...congrats To You!!! :) :) :) Woohoo! Yowza, Yowza, Yowza!!!!

I got wait-listed. :(

Hang in there DaisyJane. Being waitlisted isn't the end of the world. Still have a chance after RDer's accept or refuse. Good luck.

I checked the CDS for the 2004-2005 school year. 0 people were taken off the waitlist.

255 put on the waitlist. 129 accepted a place. 0 admitted from wait list.

yikes...I'm intimidated. :(

Is it kind of sad that I fell in love with Smith because of the "I Am Smith" video? :o

That data is way too old to garner attention. I understand that Smith took waitlisted students last year; although I do not know the exact number. My bet is that if we wait long enough, one of the other parents will have the answers. Hang in there. :)

I got into Smith!

I'm in! First official acceptance! Will probably hear from Wellesley and MHC tomorrow, and get the admissions packet, too (there are advantages to living so close)!

Micheeatsfish...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! WOW! Uh-HUH! UH-HUH!! :) :) :)

AWESOME Americangypsy!!! Simply, AWESOME!!!! :) :) :)

I am in...I called my parents back in Austria in the middle of the night...and everybody is going crazy!

I've been sitting at this computer for hours now just basking in the thought that Smith has chosen such a great class of 2010. You all are obviously deserving of such an honor, and I feel like a "proud father" once again!

Can't wait for the "housing" discussions LOL :D

Congrats to all who got in and hang in there those who got waitlisted. I am pretty sure 09 had waitlist acceptances. 08 did not but they got way more yield than they expected that year. We have been quiet because David is sick, and D is heading back to school on the red-eye tonight so we have been busy. Our D will not get to meet you all for another year, since she is headed to Florence, Italy for JYA. (We are going to visit)
I hope you all make the best decision for you.
Ellen

I'm in officially. Boy does that congratulations banner look BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait for the packet!

I was accepted too! I'm wicked excited!! :)

hooooooooray!

"Where's TD and Mini? Thought they'd be waiting to woop it up with us!"

Sorry I'm late (been down with the flu for a week! and mine just left to get on her plane for the happy valley.) Her last time back before a year in Florence! Mrs. Mini is driving her to the airport; I just got off the pillow to wish everyone congratulations!

Congrats to all. My d. ended up choosing Smith over Williams and a bunch of other places because it simply had MORE: better advising, better opportunities (she was a STRIDE), more music, much better language departments, better JYA programs, better town. Just a superb place to spend four years.

I urge you all to visit. If you choose other places, that's fine - the fact that you've made it this far makes you all winners. But a visit can make all the difference. From the viewbook, Smith just looks like another one of those liberal arts colleges, just one without men. When you get on campus, it has a feel much different from that, and the excitement is palpable.

One thing that REALLY made a difference for my d. was staying over an extra day after the open campus to see the presentations of senior research. That's what really sealed the deal for her.

Whoops - see my alter ego has posted above. ;) (And for those of you who go to Mount Holyoke, know that I have a soft spot in my heart for the Lyonesses as well.)
