ED Acceptances/Deferrals

I won't be able to check today (this is my only ten minutes of free time), but for everyone who can...post here! One final good luck to everyone!

i got in!!!!!!
i had a little bit of trouble finding it though, if anyone needs help it's under admission summary and click on "admission letter"
i'm soooooooooooo relieved!!! now we just have to make sure the aid comes through..... bites lip

i got in too!
i am so thrilled!!!!

Congratulations to both of you. Now you can start dithering about housing, majors, and the logistics of moving in.

The Daily Jolt - First Year Wisdom

i found this on the daily jolt- it's a really great list of wisdom for first years....a great read, especially if you've been walking around for the past couple hours with a big grin on your face because you're so EXCITED!!!!

Congratulations!!
And now the fun begins :)

By a weird change of events, I checked today.

AND I'M IN! I can't stop sobbing. Yes, I am that lame. :)

Congratulations to all of you. Now just relax and enjoy high school, cause you have no idea what a change you're in for :-) Good change, but big change.

Well, Irene, when you dry your eyes, you have to consider: foil, epee, or saber?

Congratulations. I'm so happy for you all. But don't relax too soon. Smith gets stroppy about severe senioritis...

i have gotten a slight case of serioritis....what do they say about it? is it that you must maintain a certain gpa? will they take away aid depending on your grades this and next semester?
mine aren't AWFUL, but they're not great either....

they won't adjust your need-based aid (I have no idea about merit-based aid, but most people don't have that anyway). They could conceivably take away your acceptance or start you on academic probation if your grades drop too much, but they'd probably have to drop quite a bit. The rule of thumb I used to hear in high school was you should worry if you go down more than one full letter grade in any class (so if the transcript you submitted to them showed you with a B+ in history, don't go below a C+ for the year), or if you go down in the majority of your classes. But Smith probably doesn't have a hard and fast rule.

That rule seems a little tough. What if you've always had straight As and then you get a couple of Bs? I doubt colleges would care about that.

I don't know about EDers but for RD, a few girls were put on academic probation.after sending in their third quarter grades. I certainly wouldn't worry about a few Bs, however.
