when did they release that number?

I'm pretty sure Stanford is need-blind, so economic status does not impact your admission either way. I think the fact that SCEA is non-binding probably plays a roll in the increased number of applications too... There's nothing to lose, so why wouldn't you apply early? It just sucks for those of us who are seriously interested in Stanford as our number one (and only?) choice.

Yeah, that's really depressing news...Don't leave me Stanford!

I know, right? Now I'm starting to debate whether I want December 15th to come quickly or slowly. Or maybe just never. Haha... This is terrible...

look at it this way; if we all get rejected from stanford (cough oprah cough), then we wont have to worry about stanford; that is one off your list of worries :]

I most definitely want Dec 15 to come quickly......I cannot take this wait.....I am really not that patient a person and knowing that there is nothing I can do about the admissions process now makes me very nervous.....also I want to know whether I am in or not in so that I can move ahead......
Moreover, my exams are starting from the 27th......and preparing for them while thinking of Stanford all day is not the most efficient of study methods...hehe

I've decided I'm not going to open the e-mail, but wait for the snail mail notification.
o.O

Yeah, that's true... I wasn't really planning on having many backups, but now seeing the new stats, I've started looking. And I didn't think that they were sending out any snail mail notifications...?

@michelle, I admire your patience.....me I'll be sitting infront of my computer at 4:30 in the morning ( Im from India).....even though I think I have an exam on the 16th....

This is from 2005, so I hope it still stands.
"We also mailed our Single-Choice Early Action decision letters on December 15. All decisions letters were sent to the mailing address you provided on the Basic Information Form (Form 1) of the application. If you are currently at a different address, your decision letter will be waiting for you when you return to that address."

@moh, it's not so much patience as I am just old fashioned. I find the internet to make things so anticlimactic. But honestly, I probably will open my e-mail anyways because all my friends who applied early will be crowing about their decisions. =)

Yeah, me too, probably. I have this strange fear that they're going to send the decisions out early or something, and I'll go onto my e-mails and see it by complete accident. This is one of those things that I have to prepare myself for... I don't think I'll handle it well if it comes as a surprise.

haha suckers, lol im just messing

im gonna get to see if im admitted dec. 1!!! im freaking out!!

good luck to all you guys

Stanford doesn't send you a snail mail notification unless you tell them you want it - from the decision email.

what about the thick package that I really want?

@amciw, that's horribly cruel of them, haha. making you face it, whether you like it or not!
and i'm gonna be sitting at my computer all night for my decision. i can't waittt

can i make a 2013 SCEA decisionz thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd wait until we get to the weekend before lol :P

22 days to go....528 hours......isnt it too early to make a decisions thread??

im just so antsy!!!!!!!!!!!!

make it on the weekend before it...lol
