Congratulations to all the students accepted ED! If you celebrate the holiday, Merry Christmas!

what was her GPA and scores like to get that scholarship?

Daughter accepted in to Newhouse, it was her first choice for ED.

ACT score of 32. Did not take the SAT.

GPA of 3.65

No class rankings.

Heavy load of honors and AP classes in a highly regarded public High School.

Lots of school sports activities, included coaching her own team. Working as well.

Three teacher recs plus Guidance Office letter. Teachers were careful in writing well done letters, made sure our daughter’s interests were touched on.

No particular thoughts on essays or hooks. Sister already at SU in Architecture, so that may be one. Did not interview, but did visit the college in a specific Newhouse visit.

Her application file became slightly fouled up between the High School and the University, the admissions office was excellent in helping getting it sorted out as was the High School. Great people.
