Has anyone applied Early Decision this year for Syracuse? If so what was your test score/gpa?

I just applied ED to Newhouse (which I know I’m not going to accepted to) and second choice VPA communications
GPA - 3.4
I messed up pretty bad my frosh/sophomore year and also included in my “extra” section on the commonapp but my junior year I got my average up to a 95 and I’m hoping it will stay that way
ACT - 24 (I forgot a calculator and was screwed for the math section, don’t want to talk about it) but I got a 31 on reading which saved me
SAT - 1050 out of 1600
I have tons of EC and a solid essay.
I hope applying ED gives me that extra umf since my grades were slacking.
Syracuse is my dream school and I’m going for an interview soon as well so I’m crossing my fingers I get accepted.

I was under a situation that was somewhat similar, Buffalogirl, and during the interview they seemed to appreciate my advancements as a student through 9th-12th quite highly.

@ian thank you for the reassurance. I just set my interview for dec 2 and I couldn’t be any more nervous. Did you apply ED as well? I’ve been taking advanced classes since the 6th grade (took regents algebra in 7th grade) so hopefully they will take that into consideration too.

They love a rigorous schedule. I applied ED.

Hello! I applied ED this year too. here are my stats:

SATS
1290/1600 (1980 out of 2400, I’ve heard varying information as to how much consideration they give towards your writing section yet they still require you to send it regardless)

GPA
93/100 unweighted, my school doesn’t do it on a 4.0 scale

and I’m ranked 34/400 in my class

Have you heard back, calimeggy26?

Yes, @nathan, was accepted first wave in December :-)
