Greetings everyone. I have to warn you, some serious idiot-ness is about to happen. So recently I’ve been applying to colleges since it’s my senior year. I have submitted applications for two colleges for the November 15th deadline, One college for the December 1st deadline, and five colleges for the January 1st deadline. I used the common app for each one. I, the “genius” that I am" thought that the self reported sat scores were enough. Then I found out later that I HAD to get collegeboard to also send in the official scores. So basically none of these colleges have my official sat scores, I am nervous about paying for each test sent, and o am nervous about my application. Not my guidance counselor nor anyone else, also not common app told me that I also had to send scores as well as report them on the common app. I take full responsibility however. And if that wasn’t bad enough, I also wrote each of those colleges how I used the wrong email in the common app so the confirmation codes to check on my status never got to me. With the January deadline ones I’m not super nervous, but will the other ones think I’m a total screw up. I’ve already shown them I’m sloppy and pretty dumb. My application was slick until this occurred. How should I go about handling this?
Send your scores immediately and pay to have them expedited. When you took the test, did you indicate any of your target schools towards your four “free” score reports?
No, it just shows you’re a kid.
Yeah I definitely will be sending them as soon as I get home from work. However, I am not sure if I’ll be able to cover each one at the expedited price. Sending scores for three colleges is already 33 dollars. I am pretty poor to be honest. And I hate to tell y’all this but I didn’t even know about this four free score reports. I honestly did a lot of research about colleges and applications, I do not know how I let this slide. I am so dumb
That’s a good point 4kidsdad, however I just can’t shake the feeling that I should’ve done better. I’m applying to some pretty competitive colleges with applicants with higher stats who probably knew about all this and didn’t screw up their emails.
Bump
Don’t expedite scores without looking at the school policy. Some of them tell you explicitly NOT to used rushed reporting.
