Rosemont admission stated that no applications have been forwarded to Drexel. It will not be forwarded until sometime in January. Jonathan did not know exactly when but it will be in January.

I posted this so that those who applied don’t get a false sense of the odds of getting into the program. It is not intended to be negative. IMGDAD and others had the wrong belief of the odds since IMGDAD’s posting.

I hope the best for all applicants, but given that these programs are extremely selective, many will apply and few will get in. I am in the same boat as all others on this thread, hoping to get in to just one program.

rlpak14: good perspective…stop the DREAMERS from false expectations as if Drexel Med is going to accept 50% of all apps from a given program because only 12 applied! thank you for advancing reality.Yes it is a challenge and realistic perspective will facilitate successful endeavor. BRAVO !

I was primarily under the impression that the Rosemont/drexel process basically goes along the lines of: acceptance to rosemont, submit drexel supp to rosemont, they forward some/all to drexel, we pay drexel med fee, drexel reviews and calls some in for interview.

Since the specific process varies so much between programs with different med schools, I think it is a bit difficult (especially b/c the websites don’t have the majority of this info on there so we are left to do our own arduous research lol).

Who knows which piece of info is the correct one! My son actually told me that he was told he will be informed of whether he has been picked for the Drexel interview by the middle of January and the interview will be on February 1.

Well Sir, I can tell you that February 1, 2013 is a SATURDAY and ther are NO Interviews at Drexel on Saturday. The earliest BS/MD interviews are likely Villanova/Drexel on Feb 5, 2014:

well, actually, when I met Jonathan Squire at Rosemont, he did also tell me that the Drexel interview IS being held on a SATURDAY (which I thought was weird but didn’t question since he probably knows more about it than me.) (also i forget exactly if he said feb 1st or 8th but it was one of those). He also told me I should plan on staying overnight in a nearby hotel instead of driving 3 hours because the interview will be at 8am.

I’m 1559 characters over the limit for the union supplement aha HA HA HA here comes the grueling work where you cut out important parts about yourself

@istrum123 I was referring to the Pitt GAP not VCU.

@tamgirl- I’m going to answer your question here. I don’t have enough posts yet to answer ur pm.

I got the Pitt GAP supplement notification via email yesterday. Its possible that they are still being given out, given the fact I got mine yesterday lol.
I have not got any notification for scholarships yet. According to their website, “Typically a student will be notified if they have been awarded a merit scholarship by February of their senior year. Notification is only sent to scholarship recipients.” (fingers are crossed ).
My stats are 2250 SAT (not the best when compared to others on CC lol), 4.0 GPA (unweighted), hospital volunteering, shadowing, and various academic clubs.

Has anyone applied to and heard from the UConn program? What about GW/GW program? So far of the ones my son applied to (15 BS/MD and 1 BS/DO), he has not heard anything (not even UG acceptance) from UConn, GW, Siena, RPI, or Union!

I visited Siena and talked to several professors, admissions officers, and students currently in the BS/MD program and they all drilled it in that it’s a long wait until mid-january when we are going to hear back from them.
As for RPI, they are going to be a bit late this year, because they had a lot of issues with the CA and its glitches/problems downloading applications.

Also, just out of curiosity, about how many hours of medically related experience do you think the med schools will be looking for from bs/md applicants? obviously less than regular med school applicants but in general what’s the range? I don’t know much about hours and I’m estimating for a lot of school activities because I’ve never really counted hours. but for a couple things i have 1000+ hours while my medical hours equal only about half that.

My daughter received an email on Friday from Albany Medical college saying that her application had been forwarded from RPI. She has to complete an additional supplement by 12/27/13 at midnight.

However when she logs in, it says that her supplement has expired even though she only got it Friday. She keeps calling AMC but there’s no answer, and she’s getting worried because the deadline is quickly approaching.

The AMC supplement is probably the SAME as the Union/AMC supplement so theoretically she can prepare all of the answers/essays in advance of a Monday(tomorrow) response from AMC.
