NEOMED bs/md for high school class of 2014

So I just wanted to start a thread about the upcoming deadline for the neomed early action application. I already submitted my app but can you guys share the scores/ec/gpa etc you sent to the program? I just want to get a basic idea about who's applying

so yeah. thanks guys!

I’m applying. But I don’t think it helps you to compare stats of other people that are applying. Just do your best on essays and interviews :)

do you know when we’ll get our decision of whether or no we are offered an interview?

Did anyone find out if they got their interview or not?

I called them yesterday, they said they were just starting to send the letters. Apparently depending on where u live, you should get it Monday or Friday .

I checked with my brother for when he received the notification from the previous cycle, and it should be within the next week or two.

Did anyone get their letter? I am out of state so I am guessing it is going to take longer to come.

my friends and I all got our interview letters on thursday

Do you get a letter from one school or all of the schools letting you know if you have been selected for an interview or not.

you get a letter from all the schools!

Yes you should get 4 letters either way. My daughter has a friend that did not get an interview last year but she did get a letter from all four schools.

My daughter got her letters for interviews last Thursday.

Four? I thought there were only 3 schools.

you get a letter from NEOMED itself as well

I just want to make you all aware that NEOMED does not interview ANY out of state people in early action. I called the university itself and they told me that in all the years they’ve had early action, they’ve never interviewed anyone out of state. However, if you apply out of state during early action, it gives you an edge in the regular decision process.

Ok that is good to know because I am out of state and did not get an interview at any of the schools. I think they want to see their in-state applicant pool first because they might not even take out of state if they have enough qualified in state students.

What are your stats? How much more difficult will it be for us who are out of state?

@sadfeet

They take 105 kids total and 102 were from Ohio. Thus, they’re only taking 3 from out of state… That really makes me nervous and is even discouraging me from applying.

I wouldn’t be discouraged if you got deferred to regular decision. When I called the school, they told me that they did not interview any out of state people for early action.

Last year, they only took 3 kids out of state. That’s discouraging me from applying.

^It is very consistent number. Back in my D’s time (about 6 years ago), I believe that 3 was norm and 5 was the highest number. The program was designed for Ohio applicatns. it used to be written in their charter (I do not know if they have changed it)
The other bs/md’s at OH public states I believe are more open for OOS. However, the programs are very small, nothing like NEOMED.
