@iciciid Congrats. Did you email SBU this week asking when decisions would be released? Just curious, maybe that is a form of demonstrated interest?

Thank you @rk2017 @grtd2010 @PPofEngrDr about comments re: Temple.

Understand the nuance of the interview at LKSOM. I’ll go this week and interview and see what happens. I’ll speak with people who are in it to understand the matriculation rate.

@PPofEngrDr Kem cho? Majja ma?

@sammyGA

Temple is a group interview.
But it is NOT consistent - some groups get a student interviewer and some get a faculty.
All the very best to you.

@mygrad2021

NU Early Decision (ED) means you have already been accepted to NU and have to withdraw from all other college application processes.

This year, NU has decided (in its wisdom) to allow a few of such admitted students to apply to HPME. Whether they are selected for HPME or not, they have to join NU since there were admitted Early Decision.

Here is the link - look at the 1st FAQ:

Congrats @live2give

@Hakhan

This is NOT the end of any journey. Your goal of becoming a physician can be achieved through EAP and regular undergrad process.
Remember this is just the beginning of your college days - days you will look back and fondly remember.

@sammyGA and other students/parents

Give your best shot at every interview you get.

Make your decision after you have received all acceptances considering all factors relevant to you, including finances.

@wolfroland - yes, I did email SBU earlier this week. I have no idea on how it was interpreted/perceived by SBU. I was just too anxious (who on this forum is not); hence sent the email

Congrats @live2give . Well said!!

Whoever is your admission counselor should be able to provide that information, we were able to get similar information for SLU by just email communication with admission counselor. If they dance around than you know the drill.
For other part நீங்கள் எப்படி இருக்கிறீர்கள்

For everyone applying to BA/MD programs, the USMLE has just announced major new policy changes to the USMLE exam today that will affect you.

https://www.usmle.org/announcements/

The most important one is that Step 1 scores (which are cited as being the most important factor used by 94% of residency program directors to determine who they will interview and rank) will be reported only as P/F starting 2022.

Expect that there will changes to medical school curriculum in the next 2 years.

Perfect timing, this will certainly alleviate top UG and medical school values.

Getting into NYU will be much much harder in future. Probably the student mentioned got in just before that announcement of free for all and was lucky to enjoy the free ride subsequently.

It will be prudent to plan not counting on that.

How do the programs compare in residency placements? Times higher medicine rankings gives a much different picture in terms of the reputation of these two. Money is not the only criterion for everyone.

They will present the current matriculation data to Temple LKSOM and other options pursued by Temple PPHS such as regular MD, MD/PhD, Grad School etc during the session to parents in detail. Please write it down for future applicants benefit.

Congrats @live2give

FYI

USMLE Step 1 to be pass/fail effective Jan 2022.

but I stayed at ‘Holiday Inn Express last night’ :smiley:

May be soon MCAT as P/F. Then no need for BS/MD to avoid taking MCAT.
