Thank you, ML!
I’ll start.
*We need post numbers
*We need exact dates and times on every post.
We need the choice of Latest Posts, our own Replies, or My Bookmarks to appear together wherever we are, so we don’t have to keep hunting around. Eg, as I post this, My Replies is not there. These are the functions I work with most. I don’t need My Threads or My Drafts to be convenient- wouldn’t mind if they only showed through the profile page.
On a lower priority note, if something is pinned on Latest Posts, can it be unpinned when days go by with no attention? or it already has enough of a poster pool that it just doesn’t need to cloud the list?
ps Wish this thread could be pinned.
*Some way to tell what threads we’ve posted in, i.e., like the yellow dot did before.
*An indication of new posts in the school subforums in the Musical Theatre section. There are ~50 forums and there’s no way to see if any forum has a new post without clicking on it. No one is going to waste time clicking on 50 forums in an attempt to help applicants.
*Larger usernames. Lose the “registered user” indicator. We’re all registered users. Bring back the location feature for members.
*Figure out what the heck keeps logging us out every time we switch forums.
*Post numbers. Dates and times on each post. So important. Hovering to see that isn’t sufficient.
That’s a start.
This is also on my wish list:
That an admin or tech person would pop into THIS thread on a regular basis. They could either give a quick update here, or post a link to the update. I know they’re busy, but it would only take a minute, and it should be clear by now that scattershot communication doesn’t work very well.
By “regular basis” I mean at least once a day. If there are no updates, they can pop in to say so. But no more disappearing admins.
And no more admin cheerleading, please. We are capable of deciding for ourselves if we like it.
*I’d like options to have more posts on a page and less white space between posts so I’m not constantly scrolling.
*I don’t care, but many people would like less white
*I liked being able to see what threads I posted in on the main forum page rather than going to “My threads” or “My bookmarks” which I admit I don’t really know what they are.
*I want to be able to make bold, italics and underline by selecting the print and using control B, contr
Finally, we need communication. You know, something like:
This week we are fixing the mobile app…
We will be adding a page color background some day, but it’s a low priority item because the app is more important.
We won’t change the number of posts per page, because we want to subject you to as many ads as possible.
Could you have a “remember me” button? I have to log-in every time I visit the page.
^^^
@lookingforward “ps Wish this thread could be pinned.”
This thread is pinned (will remain at or near the top of this forum – see the pin image on the left side of the Forum view showing first page of the forum’s thread listings).
However, it is not “featured” as the very top of the forum two threads currently are.
Hope that helps.
Add an option (or just make it the default) to subscribe me to a thread if I reply to it.
Half the time I forget to click the star to bookmark it.
At least until the bugs are hammered out, perhaps this thread can be featured on the side of the screen like other " important" threads like " Chance me!"
:-B
Thank you- wasn’t there when I started this response, now is.
<li>I also would like, verrry low priority for all of us, to get away from the crazed icons.<br></li>
Oh, JEM, bad news, 3 second ago, it was NOT pinned at the top on Latest Posts.
See why we are at a loss?
Now it’s back 307
Now it’s not - still 307 EST - it sinks by time stamp. The Update thread stays at the top.
On my Ipad, not only do I get logged out, but it takes me to the app even though I got logged out on the regular website. How in the world does that happen?!?
I don’t like the very public notification that shows up on a post that has received a warning. That can be done privately to the OP. I have received a warning in the past for posting too much of an article instead of just an excerpt and a link. I was warned by PM in a very polite way by MaineLonghorn and I appreciated the notification. I hate to think that posters on CC will be embarrassed publicly when they inadvertently violate a rule. [-X
I have already posted this numerous times, so I have cut and pasted my request from a previous thread. I have to say that I am not encouraged that the official response thread from Moody208 mentions nothing about the below issue. Here goes nothing :
Really disappointed in the inability to see if new posts have been created in a particular college’s forum (without having to manually click on the college to see if there are new ones). If you click on Top CC Universities, there should be a column to the right of the university name that says “most recent” so that you know when the last post was in that particular college. Or, restore the ability to subscribe to a particular sub forum/college. I think this really hurts the less popular schools…how many people are going to click on, say, “Butler University” on a daily basis to see if there are new posts? However, if you were someone that had knowledge of Butler and could easily see/be notified that there was activity on that forum (like you used to be able to), you would probably pop in to see if you could answer a question.
To any one that is listening or reading this from cc: I have kids that are currently looking at schools (juniors), so I am interested in a variety of the college forums. I used to visit the college sub-forums (ie, Top CC Universities, Alphabetical list of Colleges, etc) almost daily just to pop in and see where there was activity. The process of clicking on each college to see if there is a new post (and it seems there is even less now–maybe just my perception) is just not efficient. Have to say, you are losing my interest in this site.
I’ll offer up my CSS changes that make reading the threads a much more tolerable experience. They wring out most of the superfluous white space, get rid of the fixed-width layout, hide the avatar, get rid of the useless “Registered User” field, and change some colors to be nicer, like killing the horrendous bright red “This post was edited” line.
Maybe TPTB will take some inspiration from it.

Post numbers…when can we expect these?
Re: the iPad application…I updated on iTunes yesterday. Now when I click on the icon for the application, I am taken to this very same crwppy format, with all the same glitches…AND the screen doesn’t rotate with my iPad when I turn it. I actually LIKED the iPad application format better than the regular URL through my browser. Creating an iPad app link to the URL browser is NOT fixing the application.
I’m still getting logged out when I switch places here. It’s annoying.
Thumper, I don’t know when post numbers will come back, but administrators have assured the moderators they will be. That’s all I know!
You know, I sure hope CC didn’t pay a lot of money for this. Plagued with multiple major technical problems, and the customers detest it. All to fix something that wasn’t broke.
OK this thread has been open all day, and has 12 or 13 replies. It needs to be moved, or placed in all forums. Why is it stuck in one of the least-travelled corners of CC?
