Official UC Irvine Fall 2017 Transfer Applicant Thread

@5HisLife likely, the night Thursday to Friday, but anything is possible. I had theories based on the last year that they would at least start on regular decisions around 14th, and still nothing… very disappointed.
I called them yesterday to check on some sensitive paperwork they requested from me for financial aid, and while on it asked about admissions. Same answer as before: starting sometime this week and through April 30th. Those folks are masters in avoiding specifics :smiley:

@lenocturne Ah thats so disappointing! Thought they would start releasing decisions by now but I heard rumors at school that it might be released around the 27-30th? This is crazy!

Totally understood you guys!!Hang in there guys!! Almost there!! Good news worth wait!!!See you guys in UCI :))

I spoke to my old admissions counselor and she said regular admissions will be released on a rolling basis throughout the next two weeks.

are you guys still in school? just focus on your work to pass the time, like you still have to keep up your grades. relax, you’ll get your decision when you get it.

@gabyitzelq1 totally understand! Maintaining grades are important but it’s hard not to worry :frowning: you mentioned that regular decisions are coming out but do you know if they started yet? Thank you

what is SIR

@gabyitzelq1 Good advice, but easier said than done. I have a full time job, school at night almost every day, and I can’t focus on anything other than this forum and my inbox. My mom hooked me up with some Valerian root pills (dietary supplement to calm your nerves), and those help me sleep at night (I used to wake up every 2 hours to check my inbox). But during the day I just can’t seem to focus on anything. I wish university’s management would realize what kind of anxiety this uncertainty is causing people. It would be much easier if there was a set date or some point of reference for us to look forward to. But I am still hopeful. Maybe today is the day.

@lenocturne I understand your anxiety; it’s difficult to stay focused when a simple decision has the potential to change your life. I really hope they let us know in a timely manner so we can figure out what steps we need to take whether it be another year of CC or SIR to somewhere else… I hope today is the day too! Good luck to you :slight_smile:

Statement of Intent to Register

thank you

not yet @futureanteater97 , the wait is killing me ):

I would also like to know if anyone is planning on going to the Celebrate UCI day and if anyone was thinking about living on campus. I never really gave much thought to living on campus since I live in Santa Ana and it seemed like an unnecessary expense but I’m starting to consider it and I’m wondering how much would it cost and is it worth it?

@xushiroll
I applied housing for Arroyo Vista since they gather transfer students.
Look up uci housing and it’ll tell you all the prices. AV is probably one of the cheaper and practical apartments since it’s on campus and only a 10-15 walk to campus. They also have a shuttle to take you to campus too.

@shooguu
You can apply for housing already? I’m clearly late to the game, seems so early for that but AV definitely sounds like a very convenient option, especially since they have a house just for the CHP students. I’m so overwhelmed by all of the info, I’ll have to look into it now and see how far scholarship money will get me but thank you for the information!!

And congratulations to everyone hearing back and best of luck to those still waiting!!!

Oh wait no, I see housing apps are due like may 1st I’m just verryyyyy late to the game

it is stupid since they are giving out decisions on April 30…

lol, why are schools this fucking stupid to release info so short before deadlines of housing?!

@xushiroll you mean June 1st??? May 1st is Freshmen?? I swear, you almost gave me a heart attack! D;
Transfers
Transfer students are guaranteed one (1) year of on-campus housing. The housing application deadline is June 1st, and housing contract offers are sent in late June/early July. Newly enrolled students must submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) before applying for housing.

@darkarchang3l ohmygod I’m so sorry the last thing I want is to cause more stress on this page!!

And yes their timeline doesn’t make much sense with the admissions coming out so late and celebrate uci day THIS saturday it doesn’t give some people enough time to go

@xushiroll ahh it’s all good now! :slight_smile: you can still go for all the free stuuuuufff!!! :smiley: (one of the main reasons i’m going lol)
