@calbee Just based on when the big release was last year!
@BSor19 UC Davis is my top choice, but if I got into Berkeley I would be ecstatic. I hope all goes well for you wherever you end up
@seokminnie0218 I understand that seeing all of these posts is making the wait even more agonizing. Just know that whatever the outcome, you’ll figure things out! Good luck
@Hooyahboi Seems we are in extremely similar circumstances. I lost my father my freshman year of college as well. Even though I don’t know you, I’m glad you were able to overcome the pain of losing a parent and still attend school (I know how hard it is). Congrats, hope you get into your top choice school!
What’s your major?
any CS majors got accepted today ?:((((((
i don’t see any hope anymore
@TransferCS I’m sure you still have a chance. How was your essay written?
my third language is English, I wrote it with my own, i guess it came out bad lol
@TransferCS they probably haven’t processed CS yet. I am CS, and I was accepted last year with much lower stats than I have now, so I don’t see why they would reject me this year. For some reason they are running about a week late, and it’s ok, as long as they don’t mess anything up
what’s ur gpa
this is really frustrating, full month of stress
@TransferCS, 3.75 -3.8 (depending whether or not they will take in account 2 classes from an international university)
I requested a change of my Alternate major yesterday and got a message saying it was approved this morning.
well yea u have a high gpa
@TransferCS It’s not always about GPA. A lot of it has to do with your experiences, what you can bring to the table at UCI, and how much potential you’ve had. Someone with a 3.9 but no passion to invent something new is a mediocre student.
you mean insight questions matter more than GPA ?
the only way for them to know what I can bring to the table is the insight questions, i don’t work full time, I didn’t do community service at CC but I did at high school.
so i am guessing u mean Insight questions matter more than GPA,
but i don’t agree. Having higher GPA increases your chances way more than having a good insight.
In certain circumstances, I believe so. If a university is to be an institution of learning, and your personal experiences reflect issues that would valuable to that community, then the insight questions can say much more than an academic record. For instance, say you have a low GPA but did something useful and valuable to some entity, be it government, corporation, or some group of people, and that affects thousands of people, such as solving a security risk in a commonly used application, or brought to light an issue that needed to be addressed by the public such as privacy, your academic record and grades may not reflect that as well. You can sell your experience through those questions.
I am transferring as a CS major as well. The wait is killing me as I see every other major get their decisions. I hope it comes out today.
oh yea, but there are very few people that did those stuff.
