I got accepted to all the Cal States I applied to
Pending: UCSB and UCLA
I found out yesterday morning that I was admitted. They sent me an email at 4:30 am saying that my portal was updated. I didn’t expect to get in because my GPA was low but I think my Personal Statements helped me out and my extracurriculars and my full time Job. Good luck to everyone else! Don’t lose hope!

I don’t think personal statements mean much, because if people get shitty grades you’re damn right they will be writing about how their house was destroyed by a hurricane the day after their dog died etc… Could be totally true but think of it from the admission councilors point of view, they must see sob stories every other application. Thats just my opinion of course.
@TransferCS My gpa is 3.65 cumulative. I got into UCSB for CS so far.
I have a friend that got in with a 3.44 GPA I read his essays and they were about 9-10 range some nice ECs upward trend. Also I was admitted stats below.

3.65 UC GPA (bunch of Cs when I was younger and stupid)
3.90 GPA MAJOR
waiting on UCSD UCLA and UCD
i got two C’s and it dropped my gpa to 3.37 smh
For me I deeply talked about how building a GUI at a hackathon was the coolest thing to me back in high school and I was involved in FTC (robotics/ was programmer) and won Inspire Award and had a job. I thought my extracurricular would stand out 
Hey CS majors, what CS courses did you take to fulfill your one year requirement?
I took Java, Python, and the first CS course taught in C++ (course that you need to take other CS courses).
@calbee java I, java II, C++ (my school doesn’t have advanced C++), data structures, and computer organization and assembly language (this one is more of an engineering class, but it was awesome! We wrote our own assemblers, virtual machines and compilers)
I took discrete math, Java(intro/object-oriented), and data structures
Seems like 3pm pacific time was the release on Wednesday, I’d suggest checking around that time again today.
I took C++(intro,object) and Data structures
Thought that would be enough plus my 3.435 GPA

I messaged the counselor last night regarding some waitlist questions, and this is what the counselor replied, “We don’t know if we will have a waitlist at the moment.”
Is this normal tho?
