Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

I got rejected, too. Can we still appeal?

AWW MAN!!! Is there another way to transfer? Can you transfer as a senior?

^dh71091

You can apply again next year (or later) if you’ve only been to a CC. If you’re currently attending another university and will be hitting senior standing, however, you cannot.

Unfortunately, you cannot transfer as a senior. If you want to go to UCI, I would suggest applying another year.

For those that was denied what was your GPA and major.

So say if I stay at my CC, then I can apply again next year even though I will be at senior standing?

and

If I go to my backup school which is UCR, I cannot transfer again to UCI because of senior standing?

You cannot hit senior standing with only CCC units. If you’ve only taken classes at a CCC, then you can definitely apply again next year.

And can you still appeal? The deadline passed right? But technically, We just got rejected?

I have no idea if you can still appeal. Although at this point with wait-listers being rejected, I’m not sure if they’ll grant one, unless they made a mistake or something.

youll still be a junior level if you stay at your cc

I’m gonna call them tomorrow and ask if it’s still possible to appeal or not.

Hello all. Long time lurker here. I guess i’m one of the numerous people that just got rejected off the waitlist. Just for some closure, I have a couple of questions i’d like to ask:

Does anyone happen to know how many people were left when they started sending out mass rejections after the 15th?

Did anyone get in after the 15th or is still waiting for a status update?

Thanks to everyone here who kept up-to-date information posted this past month and a half

I am listed as a seniot and I was initially waitlisted. If I had no chance of getting in , I dont think they would have offered me a waitlist position.

I was accepted off the wait list too ( before the 15 th) and was listed as a senior. Weird. Did not accept their offer of admissions.

Waitlisted, not accepted.

At least I SIR’d to UC Davis so I’m not stuck going to community college for another year. :/

After 7 months of waiting…Rejected. I honestly cannot believe it :(

Got rejected as well. I had senior standing. Oh well. I’m asking them what their reason for rejection was and what they were looking for in a waitlister. Good luck next year if you guys haven’t SIR’d to another college already!

I appealed way back when. I hear back at the end of June but I doubt Ill make it. Good luck guys.

For all of those wondering about applying again next year. “UC Irvine does not penalize students who transfer with more than 70 semester units of UC transferable coursework from a community college. Although 70 UC transferable semester/105 quarter units is the maximum number of community college units that may be applied to graduation credit, students will receive subject credit for courses taken in excess of this maximum. This means you will receive credit for fulfilling subject requirements even if the courses are taken after completing 70 UC transferable semester units. Grades earned in coursework beyond this limit are used in calculating the UC transferable grade point average.”

You can never have too many units even from a 4 yr for UCI.

@UCILimbo Yeah I’m curious to see what the stats were this year. How many transfers were accepted normally, how many were put on the waitlist and how many were taken off the waitlist.

Well I talked to admissions (not a counselor) and they were obviously vague. I asked her what they were looking for in a waitlister and she said it was all just about how much space they had. I asked her if we can still appeal since we weren’t notified of a decision until now, and she said you could but it is not encouraged. Only if you have new and compelling information but even then, it’s all about how much room they have for students.

I guess I can try appealing. So the people who appealed here, which compelling information did you give admissions to help your case?
