Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

i can’t wait for this wait to be over!
let’s stay strong guys!

UCI really is pushing it… all the other UCs with the exception of Cal are out, what on earth is taking UCI this long? -__-

9:1 odds, since I feel like Irvine will throw out a batch this week. I’m feeling a big batch Wednesday-ish.

after all my freaking out, i got into UCLA and UCD.

I can patiently away UCI now…ha

Congrats Kitty, wheres the video :p

thanks j! still nothing from UCSD though! I think ill be in on the next batch…

okay so i was going to make it right but I was going to start for UCD, because earlier that day someone had posted they had got in so I tried making the video like 5 times, each time I logged in nothing, so i kept having to delete it, suddenly it wasn’t feeling natural anymore.

Then later on in the day i started getting so excited about the whole SIR ordeal appearing in my URSA early, i kinda forgot, i had to go to a prayer service for my neighbor who passed away around 3:30PM, and BARELY got finished so I ran over to my house around 4:50 and was too nervous and ready to just see it, i never got around to it.

but friday was the most blessed day I have ever had I think, its like when rocky beat the russian in Rocky 4.

I graduated bottom of my class in high school with like a 1. something.

^LOL, yeah I was going crazy when I got into my number #1 too, it’s all good.

Even though I’m admitted and SIRed to SD, I just still really want to know what UCI and Berkeley have to say. I guess it’s just one of those things that would bug me for the rest of my life if I didn’t apply.

yeah i hear you.

when do you think the next wave is for UCSD, ha i know its not relevant to you, but when would you suspect? This week?

Well, if I remember correctly, they said 3-4 batches total and there has been 2 so far. So, probably one the end of this week and another on April 30th. They snuck one in when UCLA released so I wouldn’t be surprised if they snuck the next one in when Berkeley releases.

good thinking.

I’m thinking the last will be rejections?

The last is mostly rejections, sometimes Waitlisted people if they decide to use it, and there are also a few acceptances because a lot of those already accepted get into Cal/UCLA and decline admission. I think most of the people who TAG UCSD use it as a safety for Cal/UCLA.

I think UCI will release a batch this week of acceptances, and a batch of rejections on the 30th. That’s what they did with freshman anyways.

This wait is killing me. I had to go through this entire wait last year too, as a lower division transfer, and I didn’t get accepted. I was one of those people who didn’t hear back until May 5th.

It’s different for Dance Major transfers because we have to do the audition, and they combine that with the academic review. It could be considered easier or harder depending on how you look at it. Easier, because if you pass the dance audition, you only have to be transfer eligible and have a 2.4 GPA to get it. Harder because you have to pass a dance audition against up to 400 people sometimes.

Last year I passed the dance audition, but wasn’t considered transfer eligible because I was missing a few classes. Didn’t get in because of TWO classes that I had been waitlisted for and couldn’t get into.

Hopefully they post decisions soon. And hopefully we don’t really have to wait until the 30th.

Irvine should post some decisions in the coming week for sure.

@LAforlife, I hope so! They haven’t released anything since March. Let’s hope they don’t drag it until May.

does everyone have a uci student id number on the application? i was wondering why they would assign us 1, if we havent been accepted…

@FallingDown

They will probably release some decisions right before May. But they should also post some this week. Should being the key word hear lol.

yep, everyone has one. It’s just a way to identify an applicant, if you are rejected they probably just delete it from their system.

@FallingDown: they did release decision in March, since two of my friends got accepted.

@Domystud89: Were they TAG’ers or have really high GPA’s? I have a 3.7 and TAG’d for Poli Sci and I am so anxious to find out!

^ They were those admitted to the Campus-wide honors program, so they were those that had high GPA’s but they also could have tagged. Then there was another batch that looked like it was Taggers ~2 weeks ago.
