@bjt223 I remember someone last year being admitted with a similar major as yours on the first or second batch with a 2.8 and I think missing some pre-req. With IGETC and Pre-Reqs done, especially for your major, you have a good chance.

Another thing, I and many others that TAG’ed to UCR did not receive any admission yet. You’ll be fine.

@mental2 no, i actually got the email notification 3-4 days after I found out I was accepted. Seems like majority of the UC’s and CSU’s send out emails first, but UCR was the exception. Got no notifications the day of, just randomly checked throughout the day and finally got my admissions packet today. Hope that answered some questions!

@btj223 nooo! Don’t say that! Isn’t it coming out in “waves”? and not that many people got their acceptance yet… Well I wish you the best and everyone else! I’m keeping an eye out for March 15 though… I’m hoping they’re releasing more decisions around that date.

@mental2 So I was in a different thread and mentioned my stats but someone said my application would automatically be void…

Major: Molecular Biology
TAG:UCR
GPA: 3.4
IGETC: Yes
Major Pre-reqs: Not complete

So my original question is that if I did TAG for UCR with missing major pre-reqs (Calculus sequence and Organic Chemistry sequence) is my application disregarded or have you seen situations where people have been accepted with TAG and missing pre reqs? Sorry if I sounded so repetitive, haha.

@transfereee Hope you’re not applying to UCI as missing the Calculus sequence would be an automatic void; UCR, not so much. As long as you got your IGETC and 60 units done, with most of your pre-reqs complete, your TAG should still be good. Also you have a competitive GPA.

Here’s one sample for last year that is similar to your situation and he got accepted. He’s a bio major with just a 3.1 GPA and I believe no TAG.
“pre reqs: i have 3/5 long term sequences done except calc which im taking over the summer”

@transfereee I said your TAG would be VOID per the information found at UCR’s website, not your application, you will go into the general pool of applicants

Per their website:
2. Complete Your TAG Contract

You must complete 60 semester (90 quarter) transferable units by the end of spring 2014. Summer course work will not be accepted to meet minimum admission requirements or major preparation.

**************** You must complete required major preparation for your intended major. See major selection criteria at www.assist.org.

@mental2 i dont know how strict UCR is with their TAG contract but as far as i know when i went with our school to UCR to do an ‘orientation’, they werent to leniant on much of their deadline and requirements when overhearing a colleague of mine asking about the financial aid and admission process

@Charger76 True but I was going by:
“Complete all required UC admission coursework, including major preparation (if applicable) for your
chosen major by the end of spring 2014. View major preparation requirements at www.assist.org”

@xxcapital hahah, yeah same here; heart was pumping fast. Next to the Section “We have received many, many applications from students who want to make UC Riverside their campus of choice!”, to the right, I got a list of three different colors and they were under “Spotlight” which I’ve never seen before. Did you get that to? I checked again 10 minutes later and it’s gone, back to normal… hmm

It technically did start on the first of march (28th of feb but close enough). Some people said they already got accepted in this thread. It’s one of those “on a rolling basis”. Maybe tomorrow!
