@Bhav007, I guess they are not done computing every financial aid package. I only got my today. I have yet to accept UCSC’s admission offer.

@anavera What was your gpa?

@CollegeDropout1,

Ok, I’m not sure if this affects anything, but I barely just updated the FAFSA today with “Already Completed” for my parents 2013 tax return thing. That was the only change I made. I was trying to find the IRS data tool, but I couldn’t see it anywhere, so I just submitted the changes hoping it will appear after I submit. Now, I have to wait a few days before it is processed to make any other changes. Hopefully I can find the IRS data retrieval tool when I try again. If not, I guess I have to update the numbers manually.

EDIT: @lolalalaa, Wow, that’s a very high GPA plus you will have completed your prereqs by end of Spring. I wonder what UCSC was thinking.

@Bhav007 Yes! What you described does have an effect. I also had a delay in my financial aid award because UCSC thought there was a mistake on my FAFSA application, but there wasn’t. After they corrected their mistake, I got my financial aid package.

@CollegeDropout1, ok

I only updated the “Will File” to “Already Completed” but I didn’t update the estimated values to the actual values yet. Is there going to be a problem? or do I just update it again in a few days since I have to wait before making another correction? Also, do you know why I couldn’t see the IRS Data Retrieval tool?

@bhav007 Yeah I was already accepted.

@CollegeDropout1 3.88

I was admitted in their first batch as an art major, but today I received notification that I passed their portfolio review, making it official.

3.59 with IGETC completed and all prereqs.

Good luck to everyone!

@anavera
Also got my packet in the mail today.

I haven’t received any email regarding financial aid either. Mine’s been saying “unavailable” this whole time as well.

@Bhav007 I’m not sure, but I think that even the slightest change could delay your financial aid award. As to why you couldn’t see the IRS retrieval option, well that might be a glitch. The reason my package was delayed was because UCSC stated that I had skipped over question 28 on my fafsa. I went back to see my application, and I discovered that question 28 had been omitted. You should try to give the Fafsa helpline a call.

@alsjfllakejfa It was not my first choice. I got accepted to UC Riverside, thankfully. I am also waiting answers from five more schools.

No mistakes, but I guess they found my past “tricky”. They kept asking about my transcripts from my previous schools and I was not able to provide all the transcripts, because I am an international student and in my country they do not give a transcript if you do not finish a year. I guess my explanation was not enough for them.

@bhav007 I asked the same question as well… It was disappointing.

@CollegeDropout1, it’s all good, I got it working.

@lolalalaa, I got it working when I changed my parents marital status from divorced/separated to something like remarried (I actually thought it was asking about my biological parents at first).

EDIT: Where are you from lolalalaa?

I got my admission packet in the mail today!

@lolalalaa

Think you have to provide all your school transcripts before July to wherever you end up. You might get your admission rescinded otherwise. I assume you did put those grades in your application and that’s why they’re asking for transcripts? You’re in for some rough times friend.

Son was:

Rejected
Major: Sociology
GPA: 3.45
Pre-reqs: Done
IGETC: No
TAG: No
Applied: UCSB, UCI, UCSC, UCSD, UCB, UCSD, UCLA
Rejected: UCSC
Accepted: UCI, UCSB

California resident but transferring from out of state public university

Anyone know when the next wave is suppose to come?

heh they rejected me, the reason they sent me in the email was that my major GPA wasn’t good enough and that one of my English classes from a CSU was not transferable…

the major GPA i understand since they only counted 3 classes for it (and one of them I have a C in)… but the English class not being transferable doesn’t make sense since I got into UCD and UCSB with that class.

Like this post if you still didn’t hear back

Has anyone be put on the waitlist? Is there even a wait list?

I wonder when they will be releasing more decisions. They stayed quiet though the decision storm yesterday.

@CollegeDropout1, I read that there isn’t a waitlist for UCSC transfers.

@artiodactyla and @bhav007 I haven’t heard either. What are your majors?

I’m calling admissions on Monday and am going to be really firm. Really tired of waiting when I’ve heard of a few people getting into the major I applied for with a lower GPA (how do they decide who to send out a decision and when?) I called two weeks ago and spoke to someone who looked into my portal and literally said “I’m surprised yours hasn’t been updated yet, keep an eye on it in the next few days” and I saw nothing the rest of the week. Then I called again last Monday and spoke to someone else who tried to feed me the usual lines of “We’ll have all transfer decisions out by the end of the month.” I responded that I got into SDSU and that their intent to enroll is due May 1st and it’d be pretty ridiculous if UCSC would give some transfer students less than a week and a half to make a decision between a CSU (because I’m pretty sure all CSUs intent to enroll are due on May 1st) and a UC. Then he responded with “Well, we are aiming to have all decisions out by next Friday” … which was yesterday.

I’m beyooond annoyed.
