There are some people who are missing prereqs but still got accepted

@5387233112 in case you didn’t know, being asked for supplementary information means you’re on the borderline. You’re almost there!

@mvillas21 I don’t believe anyone has yet. If I remember correctly, they should be sending them all out at the same time though.

Decision: Accepted!

UC GPA: 3.88

Pre-reqs: Yes
IGETC: No
Tag: No
Extracurricular: NASA Internship, 3 volunteer tutoring jobs, 2 clubs
Gender: Male
Accepted: UCSC
Rejected: -
Pending: -

Anyone get any financial aid offers yet? They start this week

@anavera Oh, I wasn’t asked to fill out a supplementary app. I only asked because it seems like engineering transfer students are required to fill out a supplemental application. [Source:http://prospective.soe.ucsc.edu/ ]

I just wanted to know how that works. I think that the supplemental app refers to a secondary review of your transcripts:

“ADMITTED: Students who are approved for acceptance and who have course credit for all the foundation courses for their major must declare the major in their first term of enrollment at UCSC. The status of students who are approved for acceptance but who, upon review of their official transcripts, are found not to have course credit for all the foundation courses for their major will be required to complete those courses before they can declare major.”

But I’m still not sure.

@5387233112 Oh. From what I know, it just usually means you’re borderline. But I could be wrong.

Is anyone curious as to how the UCSC appeal deadline is April 25th, but they may still be sending out acceptances as late as April 30th? … that makes me wonder if most people that are hearing later will be accepted? Because how can they expect you to pull together an appeal in a week, or a couple days?

Anyway, that’s what I’m hoping for.
I’m a Fem Studies major, still pending.
GPA 3.2
IGETC done
Pre-reqs: there are none for this major
EC: relevant- part of the Vagina Monologues at UCSB for two years, publicity chair last year, co-president this year. I have my yoga teacher certification (taught for 2 years) and an EMT certification.
Lots of work experience.

Other: I have an AA-T in Communications and an AA in Liberal Arts with Biomedical Science Emphasis. Upward grade trend.

Really hope I get in! I realized after the fact (I was at first set on SDSU’s Health Com program) that UCSC is actually my first choice. I want to be in this program so badly. My personal statements are both really good, but they don’t speak specifically to Fem Studies as I was applying Communications to the other UCs. I mentioned in an extra part of the application that Fem Studies is my second choice.

Accepted!!

I checked on 3/31 and then checked again this morning (4/2) and it said I was admitted.
GPA: 3.6
Major: History
IGETC will be done in the spring.
Major prep: done
Will be earning an AA-T this spring.
Transferring from Mesa Community college.
From North SD county
Accepted: CPSLO, UCSC, and UCSB
Pending: SDSU,UCLA

I will probably end up going to UCSB. The surf is better in santa cruz, but UCSB is right on the beach… That way I don’t have to worry if I am sober or not to drive to the beach. I can just drunkenly stumble my way into the line up

Thank you for your interest in attending UC Santa Cruz. Your application for admission for the fall quarter 2014 has been reviewed, and unfortunately, you do not currently meet our campus selection criteria as a junior transfer. We received over 8,100 transfer applications for a projected enrollment of 1,200 students, and there are many fine students whom we were unable to accommodate.

If earning a UC Santa Cruz degree remains your goal, we encourage you to continue with your studies and consider applying for a future term, after ensuring that you will meet the UCSC selection criteria. For more information about our selection criteria, click here. We have also provided useful web sites in the “Links for You” section located to your left.

Thank you again for your interest in UC Santa Cruz. We wish you the best in pursuit of your educational goals.

…

I don’t understand why?? I got into UCSB but not here?

What campus selection criteria as junior transfer am I missing?

@Flinstone What was your major and GPA.

http://admissions.ucsc.edu/apply/transfer-not-admitted.html

I guess these are the Junior-level Transfer Selection Criteria.

I have 3.3 gpa.

I have 72ish semester units.

Took 2 English classes at SJSU - Engl Composition and Critical Thinking.
Took multiple math classes, up to Calc 2 and Intro to Stats.
Took art 101, intro sociology, chemistry 102, biology 109 and more.

Lower division courses were completed for my major, BA 102A, 102B, Math 159 intro to stats, Calc 1 + 2 - other economics classes such as business law.

I’m so confused l0l

@flinstone Major?

@anavera Econ

@flinstone I’m in the same boat. I am an econ major, with a 4.0 at my CC, and a 2.9 at my university for a 3.45 overall. I’m looking at assist.org and thinking maybe it’s some sort of pre-req missing? I have pre-calc and calc from SMU completed, so I’m thinking personally those might have made me miss out on some of the math requirements. Really don’t know though, UCSC was my fall back and now I’m scared to hear back from the rest… Have yet to hear back from UCSB so I am banking on that now I guess…

@kmc357 have u taken calc 3 101c? it might be because of that… i’m not sure

@flinstone Is Econ impacted at UCSB? It may just be best if you called them and asked. You have nothing to lose. It’ll definitely help to get a clear cut answer.

Officially DENIED as of two days ago…oh wells…

We received over 8,100 transfer applications for a projected enrollment of 1,200 students, and there are many fine students whom we were unable to accommodate.

Does that mean they only accepted 15% of transfer students?? that’s insane.

@flinstone, No those are just the people that enroll. For instance in 2012, 7,080 applicants applied but only 4,852 were accepted. Of those 4,852 that were accepted, 1,166 of them actually enrolled in UCSC. The others decided to go to other schools.

Anyone hear today? Still nothing over here…

same
