@anespor - Well the fact that the major column disappeared is what caused me to begin this thread!!
It just means that they’re probably done with most decisions & are now in the process of uploading them and that is very important work cause you don’t want to be mixing up decisions now!!

And my application status is complete has not disappeared & I doubt it does. I guess what even the Priority thread was discussing was the disappearance of the major line & not the applicant status line!!

@SMG - Ohh! So either way you get to do computers!! Nice! But what exactly’s the difference between the two courses/majors??

@Rays… Well if its of any comfort to you, I’m an international applicant too who’ll get his rejection from the engineering department in 4 days… so you’re not alone!! :)

@rishav17 Well basically Computer Engineering is more the hardware aspect of computers, and it’s seen as a combination of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, whereas Computer Science deals with software and programming. At least that’s how I look at it.

I’m an out of state applicant (from California) and I’m waiting anxiously for the decisions. I applied as a computer science major. Hopefully I get accepted. It will give me much more options when it comes for me to decide which university to attend.

As for me, UIUC has been my dream school for about 2 years now. I can’t see myself going anywhere else. I’m an OOS applicant. My GPA is strong, my ACT is right in their range, and my essays are phenomenal. I see no basis for them to deny me of admission into Computer Engineering. I hope I don’t end up as a tragedy incident. I apologize if I sound overconfident, but I have worked too hard to come this far only to be denied.

@SMG - Gamer?? COD?? As your name suggests…

But yeah, I think you’re just confident & not overconfident!! And it’s good to be confident!! Your basic stats suggest you should be a shoo in into UIUC! And you don’t need to worry, UIUC admissions are quite predictable & their greater acceptance rate helps too!! :)

That said, I’m still doubtful cause I didn’t write the essays too well!! I applied 30-40m before the deadline, so I didn’t have time!!
It’s probably my own fault since I decided to apply to UIUC only when I realized that despite it not giving aid to Intn’l, it still doles out scholarships later on!! :)

Well, yes & no. Haha !! I’d be equally happy to go to all of the colleges I applied to(except my 1 safety)!! And I didn’t EA/ED anywhere!! But I’d be able to go to UIUC only if I get a decent scholarship!! And with my admission chances itself looking bleak, my scholarship chances are almost nil!! :/

Your admission decision will be posted online this Friday, February 15 at 4 p.m. Central Time on your Check Application Statuspage. You will need your application Login ID and password to view your decision.* We highly recommend that you log in prior to the 15th to ensure your account is not locked.

@Gulli4 - Well UIUC has one category of scholarships for OOS students & International Students!!

Now on the site it just says OOS, but I sent them a clarification mail & they said that even International students were eligible for it!!
Anyway you don’t need to apply separately for them!! :D

That said, it is extremely tough as very few Internationals get the scholarship!!
