[] Extended Chicago Essay (subject - if you want, include essay prompt if you did #5 - and personal opinions on it):My Question:
As the universe is ever-expanding, so is knowledge. By nature, humans strive to
broaden their knowledge of the world. We seek information from many places,
authority being one of the more prominent ones. However, some argue that we
have become too dependent on authoritative instruction and knowledge, which
may not always be “right”. We at The University of Chicago have a reputation for
being curious and critical thinkers: sometimes, that means challenging accepted
premises or authoritative figures. Are authorities always right? To what extent
should individuals question and test authoritative knowledge? How have you
questioned authority? - I thought it was risky as my response was very techincal and impersonal at first only last part was personal, people said it was really good, I though it was good

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: essays and interview, definitely
[] Weaknesses: scores, lack of class diversity
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Honestly, UChicago is probably the best ‘fit’ for me that I applied for. I think that my website played a huge part in the success of my app because it’s a bit off-the-wall but definitely interesting (we spent loads of time talking about it at the interview).
[/li]

[/ul]General Comments: I was shocked that I got in because I feel like my scores are particularly low for this school, but I was really happy about it. They gave me a huge grant, which was awesome, but I probably will be unable to attend because of the money issue. Congrats to everyone who got in, and good luck on other schools for those who didn’t!

Well, I’m waitlisted…
I’ve been upset half of the day, but now I’m pretty much over it.
After all, 42% increase in applications is a lot, so maybe I should be happy that I’m not denied.
Here is the article on the increase, maybe it will make some of you feel better. It helped me:)
