That UChicago accepts 75% of the interviewed applicants is really unheard of ! Are they selective at all in sending out the alumni interview invitations? If you don’t mind me asking this, what’s the source of your information?

I also got the alumni interview and it went fairly well (at least to my point of view), but the alumni himself stated that his comments and grades will not be a major factor in admission decisions.
I thought it only worked as a supplementary reference for the admissions committee.

i remember hearing this stat as well except i thought it was 75% of accepted applicants went for an alumni interview. (this would make sense as the most qualified applicants are likely to request an interview. this isnt to say some unqualified applicants also get an interview, but that is irrelevant)

brahnema is right…its 75% of accepted students went for the interview…interviews are evaluative and recommended but a great interview doesn’t mean higher chances of admissions…i guess its a rly small part of the process and shows how interested u r and u can possibly get the alumni’s backing

Hi, everyone, I was wondering… so… if you already accepted other Uni’s offer, do you have to go there? or can you just tell them (when other Unis’ decisions are out) that you will not be going there anymore…

I actually do remember this statistic floating around last year. If I can remember correctly, of those admitted in the ED round 3/4 had interviews, and for those admitted in the RD round I believe it was like 2/3. Don’t quote me on this though - but I do remember hearing something along those lines last year with UChi.

So, how many of you guys had an interview? I think by the time I realized that we could request interviews, the deadline for doing so had already passed.

There were no alumni in my area so I didn’t bother requesting an interview.

Why won’t they put the decisions up yetttt aldkjbh… I suppose there is still time today (I remember my Berkeley decision came out at 5pm way back when), but I feel like we’ll have to wait until next week.
