Official University of Chicago Transfer Fall 2009

we are the most optimistic group on CC by far! which is why, I am convinced Uchicago is filled with awesome people.

haha… well after finding this post today and reading about the possibly accidental housing letter that i did not receive, i’m not sharing in the optimism!

Oh, no worries, I’m convinced that the housing letter was utterly a mistake (as in, not related in any way to acceptance/rejection). If it took them this long to come to decisions, they clearly wouldn’t have as many people as received the letter decided two weeks ago…

Hi guys I am sorry but I need help…I really lost in this website how to post a new thred can anybody help me…

I just can’t believe that they would accidentally send SOME transfer applicants’ names to the housing department.

so you think we will hear from the online log-in before snail mail?

^For sure, I believe they post the results online and send out the letters (via snail mail) at the same time, so it could be 1-2 weeks after the results are posted before we receive the actual acceptance/rejection letters. At least that’s how it worked for Berkeley.

I keep checking my email every few minutes!!! I just want to know!!!

i don’t see a link for checking the decision on the applicant log-in site. y’all think they’re just going to release the decisions by email?

hoooooooooooooo, may its not today?.. how will I survive the weekend…

I hate to be one of those people, but this is turning into torture at this point. I just want to know!!!

Hey y’all, I’ve been reading along in this thread for a little while so I thought I would actually say something. Anyway, my fingers are crossed but it’s looking like we won’t know til next week…

the crazy thing is if that email hadn’t accidentally been sent out a few weeks ago, I wouldn’t be so worked up about this. Frankly, I wouldn’t even give much thought to when the decisions were coming out, because I would have concluded that it doesn’t matter, it will come out when it comes out. But now, after that tease a few weeks ago, I am so focused on this!

The bad thing about reading this thread was that now I am getting really anxious to know the decision also!..cant believe I am actually looking forward to an inevitable rejection…lol

It’s like ripping off a band-aid… the slower you do it, the more it hurts. I’d rather they just pull it off really fast, get it over with! (even if it ultimately reveals a deep, infected wound of ego-crushing rejection)

I knoooow! I have my final exams starting Monday so I’m going to be thinking about this all weekend.

Do you guys think they are waiting to see how many freshmen enrolls? maybe after that they decide how many transfer students they will actually enroll

Doubt it. They already said that they’re targeting 50. So I doubt that freshman yield will have a great impact on that.

They’ll probably just go to the wait list for freshmen. I doubt UChicago will ever have so few people that want to enroll as freshmen that they actually need transfers…

I know that the department uses some external server to send them out (the 4xx thing or whatever) – any chance they have it scheduled to send out this weekend, when the offices are closed (avoid emotional appeals from rejectees)?
