relief
Come to think of it, they are need-blind anyway… so the college aid office has nothing to do with admissions.

Yea, Exactly

hahahah. Did anyone else realize that all of UChicagoAdmiss’s post were deleted? wow!

Rhode: Hahahaha no, I didn’t notice. But the fact that you did notice means you’re really keeping track of this thread so I do hope you get in!

On a separate note, has anyone tried/had to e-mail Andre to get a decision earlier because of other deadlines? Has anyone been notified of their decision in any other way?

Libby made a joke in this forum when she was posting about Andre not responding to emails or phonecalls, and I took it as a half-joke.

Anyone want to call and ask if there’s any chance decisions get released today?

Somebody should call. That said, i am doubting… some people received emails today asking for clarifying financial aid information. If the admissions department indeed postmarks decisions on the same day that they notify applicants of decisions online, then I assume that financial aid offers would have to be prepared for mailing on the decision release date. I can’t imagine that they got a bunch of financial aid stuff resolved in the course of this one day.

Financial aid offers aren’t given until two weeks from now so there’s no reason for them to have to be ready today. I’ve read on Chicago’s site that the day the notifications are ready is the day they get released.

Period.

Fabulous. Somebody call.

Period!

By “two weeks from now” I meant two weeks from when the decisions are released.

Why don’t you call? :P

Also, I didn’t mean offense with the “Period.” I’m just being definitive because that’s how I write. So, hope I didn’t offend.

guys i think we need to chill out with the calling, it will come when it comes. (please dont say thats waht she said)

that’s totally what she said!! lmao

if they’re sent today what does tradition dictate would be the latest time?

I imagine the office closing time (5:00 PM Chicago time) would be the latest anything would be sent, so not today. Anyways, I just found out I have until the 11th to reply to Cornell, so I just sent Andre an email and I’ll be calling and providing reasons for why they should tell me tomorrow…

I don’t think they’re going to accept me.
Wish they’d hurry up and confirm that.

PersonGuy: The 11th? I was accepted to Cornell as well, and my acceptance “coupon” stipulates that I have until June 1st or within ten days of receiving notification of acceptance, whichever is later. Perhaps it is different for different schools? I just want to make sure that I haven’t missed something…

Is it “later”? The package was sent to my house and read aloud to me, followed by my mother freaking out. The 11th was 10 days after the postmark (may 1), but being free till June would make my life easier…

hey guys. I just remembered that the admissions department is also doing credit evaluations so that they may place the accepted students into a class upon the release of admissions decisions (some other schools release admissions decisions and then do credit evals). So they are not just sitting on the decisions, they are probably finishing up right around now. Lets hope it won’t be too much longer

P.s. Anxtrans, don’t give up now!! Hold on to hope! don’t ever assume your out before you get your decision :)

Would anyone mind commenting on my essays that I submitted to uchicago? Thanks

PersonGuy: You should have your mother look at the little blue enrollment “coupon” that came with your admission. On the left side, it tells you when it’s due, etc. If you still have doubts, just call Cornell and see what they say. I think that we have until June 1st (my decision was post-marked May 1st also.)

Mist: Please, don’t torture yourself. Just let it go until decisions come out.

guys, I am so nervous about getting decisions…I can give up other acceptances if the UofC gives me an acceptance letter.

I think my stats are ok only except SAT score.
