Good job everyone!

hockey… he said he APPLIED. those decisions are released in like march or april lol

Bump … trying to keep this thread on top so that others can be helped as much as possible.

not a single person on this thread has been rejected so far. Wow. I wish I got my application in earlier.

speaking of rejections…
have people gotten rejection letters yet? if at all? since apparently a flat out “no” from the university isnt posted on wolverine access… has anyone gotten a “view decision” with no acceptance to later find out they’ve been rejected? or deferred? if so can you post your stats if it isnt to much to ask or to invasive??

I think they accept people first, and wait on the cases that are borderline / in the reject pile.

how many of the acceptees were in-state?
Does anyone know what the percentage is for in state vs OOS?

i heard of people at my school getting deferred. im not sure if it is true or just a rumor because im not really friends with those kids so i didnt ask them directly. But i do know someone who got an e-mail from umich saying that they wanted to see her first quarter grades.

if you get accepted, they tell you in the email they send you. not just to check your wolverine access.

i also applied PA to Ross but i guess ill find that out in April…

oh and im Out of State.

hilariousimlolin, when did you find out?

Thursday morning 11/13.
so i guess it came out midnight Thursday.

omg, I am so friggin nervous
People who got accepted so far are either beasts, or early birds who applied in September…AHHH I hope I get in :(

By the way, how come most of the acceptances are from LSA? Are the engineering decisions coming out later?

Hi Kong Wen!

No … the decisions are coming for both schools at the same time because this is rolling … the only reason you see more LSA admits is just because of sampling problems. Here, our sample size is pretty small; I’m guessing only about 30 people have posted stats – the rest is just discussion. 30 people is not many compared to the several few thousand decisions that have already been shipped out. Remember that not everyone who applies to UMich decides to post their stats here, and not every CCer who applies to UM does post stats, which is why you only see admits when UMich is also sending out reject letters. Usually, people are much less inclined to post stats if they get rejected.

Hope this helped, and to other CCers who applied to UM: Feel free to post your stats here to help others — don’t be ashamed of what you did in HS, because since you’re on this site you’ve obviously done your best. There’s no need to be ashamed if you tried your best. (Plus, we don’t really know who you are)

And to those freaking out: The time for your decisions will come soon. Everyone gets a decision sooner or later.

Decision: Accepted
Accepted to LSA
Applied for Prefered admition to Ross Business school -waiting to hear decision.

I heard from UMICH on october 31st.

Stats:
SAT I (by section): did not take
SAT IIs: Math level 1 680; Literature 660 (took the sat II without ever taking a “literature” class)
ACT: Composite: 35 English:35 Math:34 Reading:34 Science:35
APs: 3 on US history, 3 on English
IBs: -
UM-GPA: how should we know this?
Weighted Average from my HS: 95.07
Explanation of weighted: regular classes +0, honors +3 (90 becomes 93), AP +5 (90 becomes 95)
Rank: School doesnt rank

Other stats: for every class available i took the highest offered difficulty except for one class. (took all honors/aps when available except for History in 10th grade)
including senior year i am taking 6 AP classes out of my total of 6 classes. for the record, its really difficult and considering i do not expect to get ap credit in most of the classes i am not sure how worth it it is.
However, at my school honors classes are open enrollment (anyone can do it) therefore sadly the regents (regular) classes are taught at a relatively low level forcing the student to choose between a difficult AP and in most cases what people would call a “joke” class.

ECs listed on app: Secretary of National Honor Society, Treasurer of Leadership (communtiy service oriented club), Captain of Varsity Cross Country -among other things.
Job/Work Experience: Shadow for a summer -give one on one reinforcement to a child with Asperberg’s syndrome in a “main-stream” group/camp environment
Essays (subject and responses):
Teacher Recs: Unsure (students are not allowed to read them)
Counselor Rec: I assume very good, i have a good relationship with my Counselor
Applied on: First piece of material received October 7th, everything in by October 17th
Hook (if any): Not sure if this counts but my guidance counselor put into his recommendation that UMich was my top choice.

State or Country: Long Island, New York
School Type, Average Stats of School (if available): -
Ethnicity: Cauc.
Gender: Male
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: Best of luck to all that apply and congratulations to those who have been accepted!
