Any international transfer student heard back from College of Engineering?

@banker92 Hey, I applied to GSP. Couple questions - have you already heard back? Also, when I submitted it says something about hearing back in December/January… was this the case for you when you submitted?

@vt2umich, hey I’m applying to GSP too because there’s no housing anywhere. If you find out any information about GSP being full or when they admit you I’d be interested to know.

Hi @vt2umich & @MaxSDax ! Apologies I hadn’t been checking this forum for a while. I applied sometime in end Apr, got accepted and got my room early May in North Quad. I think they still have around 52 slots for UC270 (Sec 012) – a course every GSP student has to take in first semester. So I would like to think they might have some spaces. I would recommend contacting Nita Shah (GSP Coordinator) directly and she may be best able to guide you. Her email is shahnita@umich.edu

Congrats once again and Go Blue!

Go blue!
This is a thread from 2014.
Hey i just have some questions for anyone willing to answer!!
I’m really interested in going to MU. I’m just really afraid I won’t get accepted.
In HS my first two years were not great because of a family situation. i’m talking 1.7 and 2.8. But by my junior and senior year I was taking AP classes and was getting a 3.2-3.4(junior) 3.5-3.7 (senior) Gpa every semester.
my ACT score was a 21
I currently attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a freshman and my first semester got a 3.8 with 16 credit hours. (19 with some AP credit)
By the end of this semester I should have a 3.5 because my classes were a little harder this semester. I am apart of a couple clubs, and an academic honors fraternity.
By the end of this semester I will have 34 credits. I would love to transfer in Jan’16 or fall’16.
Is it possible?
Or should i not even try to apply.
I have heard that colleges look a lot at the essays and improvement, but i feel like i did too much damage in high school.
@rlaker636, I was in your same position. My first two years of HS were complete crap, just like yours. I finally got my act together junior year and graduated HS with decent grades, not Michigan quality, but still decent. I did apply my senior year to U of M and I either got waitlisted or deferred, I can’t remember. I am in my 2nd year now at another school in Michigan and I have been able to keep a 3.5-3.7 GPA. In January I submitted my transfer application for the LSA school, and I was accepted for this fall as a transfer to the LSA to study economics.
You should definitely apply to U of M!!! I was in the same place as you just a few months ago, asking what the point is of spending $75 to probably be disappointed, but on the other hand, if I hadn’t applied I wouldn’t have even had a shot at getting in and I would have to live with that regret for a while.
So here I am, basically with the exact same stats as you have too, except now I will be a Wolverine in just a few months. You can do it too! Just take a course load next year that you can handle and keep up with, and work on those essays through out the next few months. Focus on why you want to go to Michigan, and what it means to you.
I hope this helps you out.
Hello, all. I was accepted to schools, like Purdue and UMass! Unfortunately, I was waitlisted, while having a pretty decent track record at my high school… (3.67 UW, top 7%, great EC’s, and a 2100+ SAT score.) I’m very concerned now, because the probability of getting off the waitlist is probably close to none, and I would love to go to Michigan… Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.
