Deferred. GG.

I was deferred from Wharton as well. Does anyone know what prospects look like for us? I assume the numbers are pretty depressing, but I can’t find any statistics as to what our chances are of getting in regular decision.

Deferred and defeated.

deferred wharton

@liberalutahn Chances are dismal. Maybe 2-3%.

Rejected from CAS. Had a 4.0 GPA, 2380 SAT, and took the most rigorous course-load I could possibly take with all honors and AP classes, with 6 APs prior to senior year, getting a 5 on each of the exams, and 6 APs during senior year. It’s not like I was focused only on academics either; I’ve been on my school’s mock trial team for 4 years, debate team for 3, and have spent 4 years in orchestra. My recommendations had to be at least decent; the fact that I wasn’t even deferred is beyond me. Maybe it’s because I’m an Asian female. I guess sometimes, giving it your best isn’t enough for some colleges, but to those rejected or even deferred, know that if that college was unable to recognize your sincere efforts, you are probably better off without them. I thought Penn was my perfect fit, but I guess it wasn’t.

Congrats to those accepted

Deferred for the CAS

Stats:

ACT - 32

Unweighted GPA - 3.54

Afghan Male

What about you guys?

Any huntsman admits?

@vinefather commiserations to you. With excellent stats like those I’m sure you’d end up in a great college. All the best in RD and remember, things always happen for a reason.

Accepted to Wharton!!!

Accepted SEAS! Got away with not starting a single other application! (Don’t be like me)

Deferred Jerome Fisher - I wonder what my chances are like now

I GOT IN. I DON’T BELIEVE THIS. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT IN. CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU ALL IN AUGUST!
For those who got deferred, the doors don’t close here. This is only the beginning. You are a bunch of extremely smart and accomplished people and you will all do great wherever you go. I’m sure of that.

I’m in!!! Kind of excited. Can’t wait to meet you guys! For those who got deferred, you are all wonderful and qualified people who will end up somewhere you will be very happy with. I’m sure of that - chin up!

Wharton 19’ Thank God and everyone for everything!!

Any LSMers? I got rejected and I feel so defeated. but wondering since it’s such a small applicant pool

@scarlettlovesivy what did you apply to in addition to Wharton?

@Encord Thanks, and I hope that will be the case. The only thing which infuriates me is seeing people who are far less qualified get accepted into Penn and schools of equal and higher calibers solely due to their schools, legacies, and athletics. In my own high school, I have already seen a case with one person getting accepted into MIT with their legacy despite being a well-known cheater in physics class; I find it absolutely hilarious, but it gives you a taste of the real, corrupt world we live in. Still, congrats to those of you have been accepted! I’m sure you will do well in the future with Penn’s vast opportunities. :)

@vinefeather I feel your pain
I thought I had a really good chance but being asian AND and international student certainly didn’t help
Where are you applying for RD?
