Official University of Rochester 2016 Decision Thread

Have all decisions been mailed? Was Monday the last day they were sent? We live about three hours away from Rochester, and still haven’t received anything. Actually thought my son’s chances were good, at least based on some of the other schools he has been accepted to, but am wondering and waiting.

Hi Gal,

My son hasn’t received a letter yet either; we’re outside Boston. Maybe a final batch mailed later than Monday; who knows? Odd this thread’s been quiet though; I would have expected a clamor from people who were still waiting.

Perhaps our sons are the only two left.
:)

Saving the best for last! ; )

Still waiting in southeastern MA, mostly because this is the last school and daughter just feels the need to hear from all before she accepts Allegheny College in PA. She is just that type, needs to have everything tied up neatly, mmmmm wonder where that comes from?

accepted for january 2013! so excited right now. lots of legacy and from just outside Boston, came in a big while envelope

Congrats, Liv! Hopefully today’s the day (last school to hear from here too, Ice). Mail due in T-0:15 minutes. I just want this part done so we can move on from admission-related nail-biting to FA-related nail-biting.

Liv, same here!! congrats, are you accepting the admission? if so, what are you going to do for the first semester?

I still haven’t received any notification in Southern California… I’m most likely attending NYU, though!

Mail came and went; still nothing from Roc. Avo, my son got in at NYU also. Congratulations. : )

still waiting in Maryland too…

Nothing here either in upstate ny

hang in there it’s not April 1 yet, good news could still be on the way! :)

I’m not sure at this moment what I’m going to do about accepting the offer, considering I never thought I’d get in so I’ve been pretty set on Tulane for a while now. I still need to visit both schools but Rochester is definitely up there now that it’s an option! once I hear from FA at both schools I should have a better idea. if I decide to do Roch though, I’d like to study abroad or maybe take classes at a school in the Boston area. the idea is a bit daunting for me, but I still have to weigh my options. I’ll come back to the thread when I make a decision!

best of luck

I finally called the admissions office today, but the lady on the phone wouldn’t give me the admissions decision. Instead, she said another letter would be sent.

Does anyone know when the GRADE letters are being sent out?

avocadolover, after April 1st you can receive your decision over the phone. (The counselor who you spoke with was probably trying to be careful - we don’t usually feel comfortable giving decisions over the phone. Since it is after our promised deadline, I have no problem giving you your decision as long as the decision is finalized and the letter has been sent.) Feel free to call back and ask again tomorrow.

candy, GRADE letters just went out the door today! Good luck to all of the GRADE Finalists!

FINALLY got my letter of acceptance in the mail today.
Haven’t heard back about financial aid yet though, hopefully soon.

The counselor told me that my letter had already been sent on March 15, but I never received it. I’ll be sure to call again tomorrow.

Still haven’t received financial aid yet, I’m a January 2013 admit. Should I hear soon?

livk, call the Financial Aid Office on Monday, they will be able to let you know if something is missing / if the package is nearly complete.
