Official USABO 2015

Man, discuss already! I want to know what questions were on this year’s open.

Guys lets keep things to ourselves until 3/13 when the scores are released. Last year I took the test on 2/4, and got a 27.75-the cutoff was 28.5. I’m pretty sure it was because everyone was discussing on this site so lets not screw ourselves over.

This may seem like a trivial thing but is it bad that my test center didn’t provide an ID for my test? The moderator and I contacted CEE and Kathy replied saying she had my test answers and it not having an ID. I explained the situation to her twice already but she hasn’t replied back. Should I be worried about not getting my score?

@skyisover you’re fine
What do you guys think the cutoff will be?

A) Maintains normal solute potential or
B)Reduces its ability to maintain turgor pressure

A

Thanks botherme. How about this one (not USABO):

In plants, areas that produce auxin often compete for:

A) Sunlight
B) Pollinators
C) Sugar

A … I think.

yep.
Auxin stimulates cell growth, often in response to light (phototropism)

Alright, how about these:

  1. Animals attracted to eat ripe fruits such as oranges:

A) Often girdle the tree in the summer
B ) Are usually color blind
C) Usually avoid under ripe fruit
D ) none of the above

  1. Enhanced CO2 is used in dark controlled atmospheric storage of fruits in order to:

A) prevent ripening
B ) trigger climacteric rise
C) trigger ethylene synthesis
D ) none of the above

  1. Plants with the greatest opportunity to express phenotypic plasticity are those that:

A) live for 3 months, instead of many years
B ) live in environments where conditions are constant
C) actively sequester carbon in wood for centuries
D) are C-4
E) none of the above

  1. D? Weird. ..
  2. A... anti ethylene I think 3, a, more change if die faster? MOre selection?

What time do you think the top 10% will be posted?
