Hey everyone,
I transferred to Vanderbilt last year (2014) as a sophomore. I loved my experience this past year! If you have any questions, feel free to comment or PM me any questions!
This is a dumb question, but if my deposit is due by May 4th, I should be able to pay it on that day, right?
@creator Usually its all the way up through 11:59PM on that day.
@VandyTransfer27 Hi there! Thanks for offering help. I’m a freshman planning on transferring as a junior in fall 2016. Would you mind giving me some advice and rating my chances to get in?
Here are my stats:
HS GPA: 3.1
College GPA: 4.0 at a tier 2 national university
SAT: 2030 (M:670/R:670/W:690) (Should I re-take it?)
EC’s:
Executive board member of my school’s volunteer agency. Started a food outreach program with a low income elementary school, and a computer literacy program for senior citizens. 400+ community service hours (estimated, I have 200+ now). I charge of a committee of six. Alternative break trip to the Nashville Rescue Mission (Yes I went to check out Vandy ;)). SGA justice.
Congrats on you transferring, and please, help me out here; I’m pretty anxious about this whole thing.
@FutureEconomist Good luck next year! Honestly, I feel that I can’t say much about the actual admissions process since I’m just a student. Btu to be honest, I think you have a solid chance! Obviously, your college GPA is great so if you can keep the 4.0 next semester, you’re golden (and they’ll ignore your HS GPA). I know people that got in with lowest SATs than that, so no need to retake it.
Do as much as you can with extra curricular activities. I see you already have a leadership position and that’s fantastic. Your statistics look solid and I would say they’re better than a lot of transfers I know now. But, as always, getting admitted is tougher every year so make sure you really shine in your essay and explain why Vanderbilt. Also, everyone at this school is an econ major, so not sure if that may hinder your chances.
Let me know if you need anything else!
So I notice when looking at my AppVu account that, under the financial aid tab, it no longer has the parent/custodial forms/ student tax form fields waiting to be checked or the message saying IDOC will contact you with instructions on how to submit if you are accepted. So… i’m guessing this is an early sign I’ve been rejected… :-<
@mberry24 Me either… I’m hoping that’s just a technical thing because it didn’t really make sense to have them unchecked yet unable to be completed until you were accepted as it was before
I haven’t gotten a decision yet and I was really hoping to hear today but nothing on myappvu -_-
didn’t get anything either
Im visiting Vanderbilt next weekend; I guess without a decision
Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about this. I was accepted on April 13th. My deposit was due April 27th. I have applied to three other schools and they all release they’d decisions this week or early next week. I was told by vanderbilt admissions that they don’t grant formal extensions for the deposit but the lady said it’s unlikely the class will be full by May 15th but there’s no guarantee. Do you guys think I should just pay the deposit and cancel it if I choose not to go? Is that an option? How late are they generally still releasing decisions because I don’t want the class to fill up.
Thank you so much for any help
I would pay it so it guarentees you a spot. unless youre confident youll get in at your other top schools!
so has no one received a decision yet for today…?
Nothing here
ACCEPTED!!!
when was your decision out? @marianna0725
I just got up(it’s 8am in oregon) and checked! and it was up.
What school did you apply to? Anyone else hear anything?
I was waitlisted this morning and my decision came out at 7am pacific. I applied for electrical engineering. Disappointed but I figure it’s because engineering has very few spots to offer compared to the other colleges at vandy
