got in May 13th they sent it to my college adress So I didnt find out until Monday when they sent me an email saying my app was closed due to lack of response to my admit offer but i called almost crying an they let me enroll hahaha…

has anyone else heard from the wailtlist

Nothing here. My assumption is that I will be removed from the waitlist and I will not know until the day they close the waitlist/transfer class

Well, I finally got waitlisted. I can’t help but think that it’s because my app got into the school so late, but I guess it’s not even worth thinking about.

For those of you wondering about the waitlist. I got waitlisted as a transfer student, and I found out this past friday that I was taken off the waitlist and was offered admission. So bottom line is that if youre waitlisted, there is still hope!

Im sorry if this is impolite to ask, zzz, but did you apply for financial aid? I’m asking evade Vandy is need aware for the wait list

For everyone else on the waitlist: do you have a school that you will be attending if Vandy doesn’t work out? Whether it be your current university or another one. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all of us but its starting to dawn on me that this most likely won’t work out for me.

Huge cong to those got off waitlist. Hope more of us will be lucky enough to get off!!!

I don’t know if this question has been asked yet… But this is for the admitted students. On the housing assignment website, my application side shows “Blakemore House FAQ”…
I hope this does not mean that I am placed in Blakemore because I would hate to live that far off of campus.

Excuse me if this sounds offensive…but perhaps the Facebook group would be a more suitable place for your question. The rest of us who are waiting for our decisions probably have no idea how to help you! Lol.

Also - if you are in Blakemore, just be happy that you’ve been placed somewhere…and that you have actually been accepted and will be attending. Heck, I’d stay wherever they assign me even if it were to be on the least desirable dorm on campus as long as it meant that I could go to Vanderbilt…

PS…you’d also be near a plethora of yummy restaurants - J. Alexanders, PF Changs, Bread & Co…etc

@crazy7ray I visited the campus today and stopped into the housing department to talk to them about transfer assignments. The woman was telling me that they are no where near assigning transfer students rooms and you won’t hear from them until mid-July. So I really doubt you’ve been put in there at this time. From the brochure they gave me, that dorm looks awesome as its been recently renovated.

any got off waitlist recently?

Rejected from the wait list today

Me too. HOWEVER, it’s perfectly fine. I am going to UGA in the fall like usual, I have two jobs here, my wife was accepted to UGA Grad School (for a program that’s ranked 5th in the nations!!), we both have friends here, our family is in this state, and everything is great! I just applied in case something came up that would make it possible for me to go. I was going to have to reject my admission anyway.

Hopefully you, anon, have something to do now - as well as everyone else! And congrats to you all that got in, and those of you that will be attending!

Rejected off the waitlist. I’ve already committed to USC though anyway, so I’m pretty happy. I’d have loved to go to Vandy but clearly I was meant to go elsewhere!

It’s been nice getting to know all of you over the past months - I know we ALL will be successful no matter where we end up, whether it be at Vanderbilt or else where. I am finally relieved to have an end to this, although I felt their rejection email was rather impersonal but oh well!

I have 3 questions:
- How much weight is placed on your high school record?
- Does the merit of your college matter when you are trying to transfer?
- Has any1 tried to transfer after a semester of college?

I think that would depend on how long you’ve been out of high school…like if you’re applying during your freshman or sophomore year of college.

I don’t really know much about that one. I applied from a state school and got rejected sooo make of that what you will.

Vandy only accepts applicants for the fall semester, if that’s what you mean. But if you’re planning on submitting your application after only one semester of college work then they would definitely take your high school record into consideration, more than if you were applying with 2-3+ college semesters under your belt.

Yeah I found out last night I couldn’t transfer during the spring.

Why would some1 send there app in September if you can’t apply for the spring?

@korsgaard,
Their*
good luck with vanderbilt admissions…!
