Official Verbal Thread - Version with Astronauts

HELTAHIR,
Was the potential to become exclusive an answer choice, because I believe that it was part of a sentence in the passage. None of the answer choices were that the astronauts had a potential to become exclusive, because I would have chosen that one... I put unprecedented, but I wasn't sure. There was a choice that I think said the astronauts were purposely becoming exclusive, but I didn't pick that one because the passage said that there were no signs of it being deliberately exclusive.

hope you could understand that =D

iamconfuzzled, I thought one of the answer choices was the 'potential to become exclusive.' It was choice A that I selected.

A isn't potential. I think C or D was, but it was what I put.

Wait, so you put the answer choice with 'potential ...' in it Spartan Pho3nix ???

Oh yeah, I've got one quick question:

I had three Writing Sections. I had two 35 question sets, one on an El-Greco Painting lover, and one on a poetry slam.

Which one of these two sections was experimental ?

I had the same test as you. It's unknown with speculation...I don't remmeber what people said...i think poetry is experimental? Anyways - it should be on CB soon cause the sunday administration of the test is almost done.

it has to be the one w/ El Grecko...i had the poetry slam passage with a CR experimental. Can you tell me which passage was experimental, asian calligraphy or astronaut jargon

Yeah, same as solarz--
I had four MATH sections AND the poetry slam section.

Where do you see on collegeboard.com which sections were experimental?

zachsta....which CR passages did you have in your math experimental

?? CR passages in a math section?

since you had a math experimental, both CR passages would be the "real thing"; your passages could then tell me which CR section was experimental on my test

Ooooooh, ok, well, I remember having all of the sections that sunnyboy mentioned except for the EL GRECO section. Hope that helps.

The weight of evidence favors El Greco as experimental and Poetry slam as the section that counts. See posts 17, 49, 128 and especially 132. Too bad I thught the El Greco was easier.

sunnyboy, where do you go on collegeboard to find which section was the experimental

Yeah, same question.

Let's go over the astronaut one--I don't remember putting many of those answers :/

i had 4 math sections 2
my test was like 2math, 3reading 4math, 5 gram, 6 math, 7 readinh, 8 math, 9 reading, 10 grammar

im pretty sure 2 or 4 was expirimental but i dont know which one,
i had an astronaut passage, the calligraphy and teh traveling one
for gram i had the poetry slam

for math, i had a problem with like what was the probability of dice and it was liek 16/36 or something
i also had a q (on a dif section) of 3 circles tangent to a line and find the height, and it was like 2rt3 +12 (i dont know if htats correct) and a q with 2 lines intersecting in the 1st quad and ihad to find the equation of one of the lines if the other line was y=mx+b, can anyone help me and tell me which on of my math sections was expirmental!?

This was a tough question. I recall this question pretty well because I spent too much time on it. (In fact, I should have left it blank). The question was something like - The author suggests that paying a professional decorator to find a better spot for the sofa is -
1. A creative though somewhat unorthodox solution to a vexing problem
2. An unfortunate consequence of a behaviorial phenomenon
I debated both answers. It seems to me both can be defended. Who put what and why?

Socgirl, I think we had the exact same version.

I put 2: it wasn't really creative because people just try to avoid that kind of decision-making--not out of laziness, but more out of fear that their solution will be undesirable.

Good question. Based upon what I have read on the CC threads there were at least 3 different versions of the test. College Board will shortly (probably tomorrow) list the three different sequences. This should clarify the situation. If I recall correctly information will be on their home page. Hope this helps you.
