Didn’t you get the email?

I forgot… thought it was the 17th.

Don’t you think this comment was out of line and a bit unnecessary for this forum?

Ramhammer ^Well there is no God, so no help there.

No, since it’s the truth.

There is no such thing as God, so asking help from an imaginary being wont help us.

He made a statement of belief, and I made one of non-belief.

lets not get into this…honestly…

but yeah. i actually dont have school tomorrow. i dont know if thats a good thing or bad thing.

The poster made a statment of faith not directed toward you but merely an expression of their own personal belief. Your statement was intended to negate that expression not to make your own expression. You are entitled to believe there is no God but I diagree that you needed to reply the way you did.

I happen to believe that God=Truth so we will have to agree to disagree as I don’t want to turn this forum into a Theological Debate, but my main point is that I think your response was completely inappropriate.

Man, Theists make me laugh.

If I were to have criticized his favorite baseball team, would you have reacted the same way? I don’t understand how religion and faith gained this status of immunity to criticism, but I treat it as anything else that’s an opinion.

So, I will criticize as I please, and will not back down to clerical bullying.

Regardless of your personal beliefs, don’t you think that the person in the thread asking for a miracle from God, their creator, might just get slightly more offended about you disrepecting their God than you criticizing thier favorite sports team? I am not forcing you to share their belief, just to show some sensitivity to others beliefs. Obviously you’re not comprehending the logic, nor are you demonstrating any understanding that your comments are offensive to those who have a sincere belief in God.

Atheism is your personal choice, you may notice I am not attempting to disuade you, but you are first and formost being wholey insensitive to those of us who choose to believe.

So in conclusion, the issue isn’t Religion it is you being insensitive to others.

u guys, calm down. i agree with CollegeFrenzy here. I’m an atheist myself (buddhist, actually), but i think saying things like “there’s no god” to someone who does believe in god is not so right. religion is a sensitive matter. i don’t believe in god but i’m never gonna say stuff like that to anyone. we all can believe in whatever we want. If someone said to me “Dharma is BS” i would think that the person doesn’t think before speaking…

I think you missed the whole point of my previous post.

The whole point is that since it’s religion or faith or god or however you want to put it that I’m criticizing, I’m being insensitive. I’m supposed to respect someone who believes in something not because there is evidence, but because it’s faith. No, I will not. The point of the baseball team is to show that if I were to have criticized something that is dear to him but does that have some sort of divine connection, you wouldn’t be all up in arms about it.

However, since it’s a matter of faith, you feel compelled to say that I’m being insensitive. Again, it goes back to the religious’ sense of entitlement that since it’s faith, it can’t be questioned.

Sorry Ramhammer, You logic is flawed. The issue is your insensitivity to others beliefs, your choice to disregard others beliefs based on your belief system and then mock them is insensitive.

Ohh come on guys…don’t ruin this for everyone. If you want to fight about religion do it over private messages.

Whatever CollegeFrenzy, I don’t know how to put it any easier for you.

Go ahead, waste your life believing in your fairy tale.

Anyways, good luck everyone!

Likewise Ramhammer!

Best wishes to everyone tomorrow!!

Oh guys turns out my test is actually on tuesday -___________-

I don’t want to go to school either. D: I logged on early for some collegeconfidential action to see if SB’s results were up… guess not. Now I have to muster through school with this anticipation haha.

Just checked the UCSB site and there is this message: “This site will be unavailable between Monday, March 16, 2009 8:00:00 AM and Monday, March 16, 2009 3:00:00 PM due to system maintenance.” Draw whatever conclusions that you want from that.

Once it comes back on, the decisions can be accessed…

Good luck!

I’m with ramhammer.
But I hope everyone gets in that really wants it.
