Ultimately, as long as England doesn’t win today, it will be beneficial.

^^Yes, I did.

^ What’d you think of Mexico? Frankly I thought that they were crafty and had lots of altheticism and pure pace on the line. I’m also impressed that they managed to play exceptionally well after Vela went down.

I think that they played more preferably in the second half. They seemed to play better than they did in their first game, which is appeasing, seeing as how I wanted them to win.

Wouldn’t that eliminate the U.S. and advance England and Slovenia though?

TCBH, I thought of that just now in the shower hehe. Ghana will beat Aussie, and then a draw or win for Ghana puts them in 1st and I’d rather play Ghana.

Robbie Findley will be out for the next match I think.

^^^ I thought they played very well. The fact that their young strikers have so much more pace than other teams’ (especially the so-called powerhouses) aging defensive superstars I think they have the potential to do some damage in this World Cup (especially is Vela’s injury is minor and he is back and on form by the next match or so)

^^Which is great news. He is just starstruck out there. Maybe in 2014 Robbie…I mean, his pace is good and all, but the dude just isn’t read for such a big stage yet. I’d like to see Dempsey maybe get moved to Findley’s spot and Stu Holden/Clark/Torres can battle it out for those 2 midfield positions left open (I’d like to see Holden and Clark). On the other hand, Buddle or Gomez aren’t totally out of the question for a start Wednesday either.

I’m pretty sure England’s going to lose to Germany on penalties.

I think England isn’t a guarantee to go through yet, to be quite honest. Slovenia is a good team and they have the capability of beating England on Wednesday. If USA beats Algeria, USA and Slovenia advance (assuming England wins easily today).

Wouldn’t England need to lose to Slovenia in order for the U.S. to advance (assuming that they win today)? I suppose that there are a multitude of possibilities.

Does anyone have a favorite game so far? I think that mine was either U.S. vs. Slovenia or Spain vs. Switzerland.

^ Spain v Switzerland was a nice upset but a bad game. Spain were RIDICUOLOUSLY unlucky.

My favorites so far:
Argentina v Korea
Slovenia v US
Greece v Nigeria
Brazil v North Korea

Honorable mention
Mexico v France

My prediction is that England wins both of its remaining games and the US beats Algeria. England first and US second out of the group.

This World cup is pretty awesome in that strong teams are being upset. Also I root for North Korea because I admit their fighting will from a humble background lol

^^That is probably the most likely scenario, but I think Slovenia has a real shot to knock off England to be honest. USA HAS to be awake from 0’ for Algeria, not 40’, or else they won’t win. If they win, they have to continue to be awake and play with heart from 0’ when they face Ghana/Germany in Round of 16.

I think so too. Switzerland had about 3 shots on goal whereas Spain had over 20. The upset itself made the game worth watching though.

^ And good shots too! Xavi’s shot off the crossbar was the best shot that I’m seen this World Cup. The only one that comes close is the first goal in that Brazil v North Korea game which to be fair was just as lucky as Xavi’s was unlucky.

Saw it pointed out on another site - the US automatically advances if they win by 2+ against Algeria.

^^ CR9’s rip vs. Ivory Cost.

^^Thanks for the clarification.

^^ Didn’t see that game
