Hopefully the U.S. will be enabled to beat Ghana. I’m glad that they aren’t playing Germany though.

Exciting games this weekend! England vs. Germany and USA vs. Ghana. Time for the US to get revenge for 2006. Yeah!

It’s funny because Ghana is going to beat the USA

I must say I didn’t want England to advance, but I think they’ve had enough humble pie for the moment.

^ Essien isn’t playing. Wasn’t he important in the 2006 game?

We shall see, Honesto. We shall see… Gonna be a good game, regardless of who wins! :)

Essien wasn’t too important in the 06’ game. He was fairly young, but he’s gotten a lot better since then. Ghana will still be a tough opponent for the U.S., even though Essien won’t be playing. They were impressive today against Germany, despite their loss.

Again I say, Ghana is sloppy. They have immense talent and speed, but overall a poor finishing quality. They lucked out against Serbia on a penalty. Not to say the US hasn’t had their share of luck(I’m looking at you Robert Green), but I think as a team overall, the US is better. Better camaraderie, better teamwork, better functionality. I think the US wins this narrowly.

^You’re emphasizing that Ghana has sloppy finishing? The USA is just as bad!

Oh yeah, the US has some crappy finishing as well. Who finished more?

They only scored more because Ghana went up against tougher teams!

And if that first sentence was sarcastic, you’re blind.

Germany was pretty much your only real challenge. And you lost to them. Australia is a joke, and Serbia you beat, that’s not that hard.

Australia and Serbia are both clearly better than both Slovenia and Algeria! Slovenia and Algeria are both several places behind both of those teams. The USA couldn’t beat Slovenia and barely beat Algeria, in case you haven’t realized.

EDIT: Oh gosh I just made a big error that you will probably quote

Which means they had to be some level of tough. Besides, rankings are horribly overrated in FIFA.

And Serbia and Australia were both quite tough as well. So I don’t see how that means that the United States is better, especially since the United States messes up just as many opportunities at goal as Ghana does, if not more.

Who cares about rankings?

Serbia > Slovenia
Australia > Algeria

duh

lol. Nice circular justification.

Our 4 goals to your 2. We messed up more, but we scored more.

Against worse teams. You haven’t proven anything.

I’ll say this though. I’d rather have a tight-knit team than a team thrown together.

I’m not sure how people are complaining about Dempsey’s goal being disallowed without a side on view.

He looks slightly offsides, but you really can’t tell.

his foot was maybe an inch in front of that defender. It was really close. I thought he was slightly onside. It could’ve went either way, but being a US fan I’m going to be mad when the call doesn’t benefit the US.
