Official Yale 2015 RD Countdown Thread

Oh yes, it's time. 31 more days until March 30.
I'm grateful that March is a busy month for me, because it'll take my mind off the waiting. Best of luck to you all!

30 days, I think?

That’s embarrassing. =) Yes, it’s 30 days until March 30.

Honestly, I don’t know if I should be looking forward to the decision day…

Anyway,

29 days, 20 hours, 5 minutes and 55 seconds

Uuuuuugh too long. A kid from my school applied through Questbridge and he says he got accepted but with no aid? Guys, it makes no sense and I’m very upset because it feels like I got rejected already. And he’s not qualified. At. All.

Do we get emails or do we have to go check on the account?

^He’s lying. Yale meets full-need especially for QB applicants.

That’s what I’m thinking! He got deferred in the fall and just received word over the weekend. He’s in the 30s in class rank (out of 325) has a 31 or 30 ACT and he doesn’t really DO anything. Also, he is Asian and was deferred from Case Western and did not get into his first choice OSU scholars program.

And maybe he didn’t get the QB scholarship but Yale would still provide need-based aid. It’s very fishy. I am way more disadvantaged than him but I didn’t apply through QB because it seemed too confusing. Guess that was a huge mistake.

God, I am so whiny. I will stop being bitter someday. Maybe.

This thread only makes me more anxious.

^That was not my intention.
At least we can all be anxious together.

I can’t bear the wait! Anyone else not apply EA but want to go to Yale more than any other school?

@hume15: Me for one.

I’m a QB applicant, and applying through QB doesn’t automatically make you more likely to get in. It just gives you more space to explain the difficulties/disadvantages.
If you mentioned the disadvantages in your app, it makes no difference whether you do it through QuestBridge or not.

Thanks, captrick. What’s your take on this kid? Does it make sense to be accepted but with no financial aid?

Yale meets full-need The kid is lying.

@hume
I imagine that’s the case for a lot of us.

I want to wish everyone who applied a lot of luck! :D

I’m so nervous! Pretty sure the wait for decisions will kill me if the rejections won’t…and I thought waiting for AP/SAT scores was hard.

I’m another person who didn’t apply EA, but Yale is still my first-choice. The anticipation’s killing me!

^^^^ I’m practically dead already.

27 days.
