I got admitted by Lawrence. I can't believe it. So early than I expected.
Anyone know what the ACM Loan is?

Congrats! Welcome to the admitted class of 2010!

CONGRATULATIONS! Did they already send out the decisions? Has everybody found out yet? I haven't found out. I will check my mail when I get home.

Congrats!

I got accepted EA, and if I don't get into Macalester, I'll most likely be at Lawrence in the fall!

Has anyone been to campus that has pictures they'd like to share?

So you both applied EA? RD decisions have not come out yet, right?

I applied to RD

efg88 -- My D applied RD and auditioned at the conservatory mid-February. She has not received any official notification as of today. While there, she was told it would be mid-March. So, I think the notifications have started going out and everyone will hear in the next week or so.

Keep in mind that Libra_sky is an international applicant. Internationals usually receive an earlier notification by e-mail (the regular mail is too slow and/or untrustworthy).

acceptance rate is over 80% so i think it would be hard NOT to get in.

OK thanks for the info. Are you sure acceptance rate is over 80%? I was under the impression that it was about 68%.

whatever it is, it's much harder not to get in than to get in.

yeah, I am an international applicant, and I think maybe they send notification by area. Don't worry, efg88. I haven't receive a regular mail now.

The acceptance rate for male applicants for 05-06 was 64% and was 72% for women for an overall of 68%. Lawrence is a top tier LAC that is well-regarded nationally. They accept a large proportion of applicants because they have a very talented pool. If your academic credentials are strong, the odds are in your favor. As Lawrence's visibility continues to go up, the selectivity may also go up.

it used to be third tier but now with the new ranking, usnwr included 60+ more schools to its first tier, I think if the school ranks outside off the top40, it shouldn't be considered a top tier (according to the old usnwr ranking which placed only 40 schools in the top tier). lawrence maybe a top tier regional but definitely not national.

Musicmomic, I checked to see when son got his decision last year. It was around March 15 with a merit award. Financial aid came in by around the 24th. He auditioned via tapes and had everything there by around Jan. 5th or so. Some of the information came via email and some via mail. My best to everyone out there. The nerve wracking part of the process is almost over...well in a month or so. Decision-making is the worst.

As I understand, it is a small school and therefore tough to get in. They do look for real talent in their student body - so if you do get accepted, you should be really proud. Congratulations to the those who get in!!! Well done!! Good luck to the rest of you who are waiting to hear!!

WHOA I got accepted! I love my life.

Now you'll have to visit. :)

overseas -- D received her formal acceptance on the 15th just as your S did last year. She is very pleased but will now have some difficult choices. Thanks for all your good info on Lawrence.

You are welcome. Now comes the most difficult time of all. I am sure your daughter will make the right decision for her. :)
