Oh no! Do I need to change my short answer?

I wrote a "Why x" essay that I am quite proud of, but I noticed a few minutes ago that there is an example one posted in these forums that has a similar structure to mine, it's noticeable. I had no intention of doing this, but I don't want the admissions people thinking that I copied it. What actions should I take?

If there’s really a coincidental similarity, consider why. Could it possibly be because your response actually features a rather generic structure, resembling not only an essay posted here but also many others?

I ask this not to suggest that your response is necessarily formulaic – I’ve neither read yours nor whichever one you’re referring to. But it’s something worth considering.

I see what you mean, I will contemplate this. : )
