Yeah, the guidance counselor is making all the seniors finish all their apps immediately. But it’s ok in a way, because at least we will have them all done early.

My son did a lot of early action/rolling apps right at the deadline. Yes, I was there at hand to provide morale support (nag that it’s getting close and if the send button does nothing, he’s in trouble). But I did not enter one stroke of anything. other than what I had to. Even gave my credit card. If something has to be signed in these things, I do so, only after looking carefully. Mainly because I don’t want my “fingerprints” on anything. Since I’ve done this so many times, I am so tired of it all, that, yes, i could see making any number of mistakes that way. So I keep the “Hands off” policy literally. Any help done on separate sections–don’t touch the things on his computer, on his account.

Good to laugh about it. When you don’t, it can get overbearing. My good friend nearly had a stroke when her son sent his app to the wrong destination when he was applying to a special program. She’d told him not to push send until she looked things over and he did not listen. She spent the next week trying to find the app at that school and get it sent to the right dept. Couldn’t. He was rejected. She was so upset. Now years later it was funny, and it was all just as well, as his second choice school was a much better fit and worked out so well. Wish we could have laughed about it when it happened. Glad that you can do so. Just one o fhe fun things about all of this.
