Oh no!

I just went back and read my "Why Chicago" essay and found a typo!!!

I wrote the same sentence twice! :(

I read that thing like seventeen times, too... It was one of those "Paris in the the springtime" things...

Is this bad?

Well, I wouldn't say its bad in that it could drastically harm your application or anything like that. It might make you seem a little careless though.

Please: CHILL. If your essay is insightful, nobody will get worked up over a typo.

For the record, I found two typos in my Common App essay, and one in my "living the question" essay--and I was admitted early.

I very highly doubt that something as minute as a typo will be what makes or breaks your application. If you're a good candidate, and you belong at UChicago, you'll be fine.
