It's not the end of the world yet. Cal Housing is not going to let you sleep on the sleep. Cal Housing works with Telegraph Commons, Tau House, and other facilities to ensure first year students have a place to live within a budget.

Call the Cal Housing office on Monday and immediately get on the waiting list.

There is also the option of Gorrill House.

As a first year, an apartment may be somethng you enjoy, BUT I highly recommend a living situation with other people so you can socialize and be with people. I know for one thing that some of my closest friends here at Cal are those who lived on my floor or who lived in my building.

I have an excuse for not turning it in on June 1st, but I don't know if it's going to be good for them. If I get on the waiting list... hopefully i get a dorm... i don't think i'm ready yet to have an apartment and yes i will have to live by myself because all the people i know are living in dorms.

I lived with my sibling so yeah there's definitely more privacy.

I'm not the party-animalish/extremely outgoing type of person so I don't really mind living off campus. But if you're not like me then living in an apartment can suck big time.

food: no comment. But I think you can get better food around campus for about the same price you paid for the DC. (I mean, the dinner at dc cost like what...$7 bux or something?! There's kind of high w/ respect to the food quality. I mean the food is not bad but $7 for DC food? um...............) But of course DC is more convenient etc.......
