O'Hare Hall

Hi,
I will be moving into O'Hare as a transfer in a single room. Can anyone tell me what the room is like. Is there a closet, desk, bathroom, etc?

OHare is a wonderful and air conditioned dorm. One of the newer, but not the newest dorms on campus. Named after former Fordham President, Fr OHare, SJ.

These dorms have bathrooms in them, which YOU must clean, a small desk and armoire like closet. They are relatively spacious. There are dorm activities and some of the floors are alcohol/substance abuse free…people who pledge to be clean. There are stairs as well as elevators. The view from most windows is great and its conveniently located near the parking garage. Beware the security nazis when moving in…they can be rather rude if you park in a no parking zone. Most upperclassmen move in BEFORE the freshmen move in, making it less stressful and less crowded. Check with ResLife when the move in date is for you. Tell them you are a transfer and NOT a freshman.

My kid had a great year at OHare. Congrats and welcome to Fordham!

Great dorm. As a transfer student, I’d say you hit the jackpot by being place in O’Hare. You have a semi-pivate bathroom with connects you with another single room. As noted above, the rooms have an armoire which serves as a closet and it also has some drawers on the bottom, a desk, chair, bed (twin xl). The rooms are smallish, but OK – they seem to be sized to just fit everything. There is a/c but no carpet so you may want to bring a rug. Also consider a bringing a couple of underbed storage boxes. When I moved in we parked in the garage right by where the ramp is (2nd floor maybe, I’m not sure but you will see it) and there was no problem at all – the school has rolling carts which you can borrow for move-in and we rolled it down the ramp and into the dorm (which has elevators). Enjoy Fordham.

Also — when I lived there I brought a bathmat (shower curtain is provided), enough cleaning supplies for a small bathroom, and a package of toilet paper (there is toilet paper available, but it is good to have a few rolls right when you move in until you figure out where to get it).

Hi, thanks to this post, I made sure to bring TP to O’Hare when I moved in. However, I have not found the supply closet yet. Can you share that information? Thank you.
