I’m leaning towards Ohio State because part of me wants to leave NJ, yet Stevens interests me due to the ease of getting a job out of school with a high starting salary and Rutgers interests me due to the low cost of attendance. It’s obvious that I rather attend Ohio State for numerous reasons but I would also be receiving an engineering degree from there. Please help me make my decision.
I’d definitely go with Ohio State on this one. If you want to leave NJ and can comfortably afford to do so, do it. It’s a better school than your other two choices (though all three are solid).
Go Bucks! Columbus has a lot of good paying tech jobs coupled with a low cost of living compared to the east coast. Also, a strong internship program, an awesome campus life, and vibrant food/arts scene. The College of Engineering has more scholarship money as you gain rank (move from Freshman to Sophomore, Junior, Senior) which can decrease your net price over the next few years. Get involved in as many hackathons, engineering clubs, professor lunches/discussion groups etc. as you can to get those awards. (Of course I’m totally biased it’s where I went and spent many days babysitting the computer labs for work study, married an engineer from there, graduating a daughter in BME this Spring -most proud of this - and hope my sons attend as well.) Remember to let us know what you decide - Best of Luck wherever you go!
