Daughter received Provost and National Buckeye merit scholarships today in the mail. We are OOS. The letter was dated 2/7. She was accepted EA in December, 4.2 W, 31 ACT. Now she needs to decide between Fisher or Kelley (IU) for business school.

My daughter has been leaning IU since she visited there last year. However, OSU’s scholarship is almost twice what she got from IU and she already knows she’s been accepted to OSU’s Business Scholars program. Won’t know about IU’s program until late spring. So now she’s leaning towards OSU, which is great (I’m an alum and her oldest sibling goes there), but IU is a bit closer to home.

Hi I am an IU grad who sent my Ohio in-state daughter to Ohio State. She is having a fabulous year and is in Business Scholars. She just got back from a trip to NYC and is super involved with clubs at Fisher and joined a co Ed business fraternity. The dorm associated with BS is great. She didn’t really consider IU since it would have been 15k more per year but so far, so good here. Good luck with the decision.

My son was also admitted in January and no news about merit scholarships. He received the postcard last week ‘we are working on your financial aid offer’ and yesterday a letter from the Diversity and Inclusion Office welcoming him to OSU (it doesn’t say anything about scholarships). P.S.: My son applied to the Morrill Scholarship.

My son was deferred in January. RD round #1 comes out tomorrow. Does anyone know if deferrals who have been accepted are included in RD round #1 or #2?

Our D’s portal says “After an initial evaluation, your application has been referred for second review. A final decision will be made by the end of March.” Last year I believe all deferred students were notified in late March, even though there was a Feb round of RD notifications.

From reading last years thread, I believe the the February annoucements were 100% RD applicants and that deferred students were all in the late march announcements. I thought I ready that many deffered students wre not notified until the end of March (after the listed March annoucements date)

For those of you who have been admitted and have paid the acceptance fee, I have a question.
My son committed/accepted the offer on 2/11 and set up his Buckeye Mail, but there hasn’t really been any confirmation that the school recognizes he’s done this. I believe it says “attendance” in his portal. Thanks in advance if anyone has any info or can confirm the same.

He should have gotten a receipt to the email he listed on the payment form. The only correspondence from the school will be in his portal in the next couple of days or so. If you go to where he accepted on his status page, on the very bottom it will now say you have accepted and attending. Does take a couple days to appear though. You won’t see anything in his Buckeye mail.

Thank you, that helps.

Is anyone still getting merit notices? Or can you assume that if you haven’t heard yet that you didn’t get any?

I placed a call to OSU and was told that merit would continue to be sent out through mid March
