Hi guys! I applied to OSU early action at the end of October. After thinking about my application for a while, I realized my mom put in something that was not my major on my application. A friend of mine told me that she knew someone with low stats getting into OSU under University Exploration (undecided) because that major requires minimum stats. So, I emailed AskABuckeye and asked them to change my application to University Exploration. Very soon after, I was deferred (December). Will I be waiting longer and closer to the end of March since I was deferred earlier? Note: I’ve sent a “deferral letter” and a few extra recommendations. And is it true that it could be a bit easier to get in if you apply under University Exploration? Thank you in advance - And if any body is in my boat feel free to comment so we can communicate!!
No, it’s not true. Applications are reviewed first by the university for admission. If admitted you receive an admission letter from The Ohio State University. If you selected a major your application is forwarded to the appropriate college after being admitted by the university for review.
“Enrollment in your intended major
Once it is determined that you are admissible, you will be considered for enrollment in the college of your intended major. Read about enrollment criteria.”
