I applied EA to Ohio State School of Engineering for Industrial Systems Engineering. Do these acceptances come out later than most? Does anyone know how they accept? Do they do it by application completion date or by highest score on SAT/ACT? I’m freaking out because most to all of the students who applied to OSU have been accepted but I haven’t received an answer yet.
My S hasn’t received an answer yet from tOSU School of Engineering either. FWIW, I double checked the website and tOSU indicates 1/15 as the outside notification date for EA / priority applications.
Don’t worry, there are tons of people who haven’t gotten accepted yet. They posted statistics the other day that showed they simply haven’t gotten to most of their applications yet. And they have been rejecting/deferring people, even those on the bubble, so if they had looked at your app and didn’t want to accept you you would know.
I’m not seeing any pattern as to how they’re processing applications.
So I guess no news is good news. Son applied Oct 31, (engineering undecided). ACT 34; 4.27 weighted and 3.95 unweighted. Did get accepted to Purdue FYE program yesterday, but Ohio State is first choice.
Hi all,
I didn’t apply to OSU as an engineering major(I applied as an Actuarial Science major) but I might be able to shed a bit of light onto the situation. I applied Early Action to OSU the night before the deadline for it last year and received my acceptance in mid-january and then my scholarship in mid-february. I think they do it based off of a rolling admissions system. There really is nothing to be too concerned about at this stage.
@jandhmom I was also admitted into Purdue way before being admitted to Ohio State.
