to hersh: acceptance rate at IIT is 0.01875

To elytron: not for NRI seats

OMG hershey101. Being an Indian, I am really disgusted by the way & things you talk about.

Do you really think IIT Ahmadabad is THAT easy to get in. For god sake, do the math. A few HUNDRED THOUSAND people sit for the JEE each year, and assuming you know how hard the JEE is, with those AP score of yours (esp that eye sour of ‘4’ in AP physics), I seriously doubt your capability or knowledge of being those 2000 applicants who finally get in.

OMG, my cousin sits preparing for JEE 10 hours a day from his 10th Grade (I know he has no life) and so do many Indians in India. So good luck competing with them.

And as for IIM, I seriously don’t want to talk about it. You have absolutely no chance of getting in.

If I were you (with all that stats of yours and having a little bit of brains), I would be happy with an American college with a decent rank and good faculty.

…start facing reality.

Obviously IIT isnt easy but if u have lived in india u know that most things happen by who you know there. I am not saying I will get in. its harder than harvard but I can pull some strings there. Furthermore, IIM is only for graduate program, so I cant even apply there.

again, you just proved how foolish you are.

Did you know IIT close down it’s NRI quota many years ago? http://news.webindia123.com/news/articles/World/20080223/892950.html

IITs know that people like you (with obviously no great academic capability) will try to find loopholes in the system and they managed to seal it.

SO good luck

“The NRI Quota was once started where Indian Kids living outside India got admission in the IIT’s through their SAT scores, the NRI Quota should not pass over 2.5% of the overall seats. The NRI Quota was later stopped due to low quality of students.”

@hershey101

For your own good, I think you should let this post lie fallow. You have displayed a highly unprofessional attitude towards criticism you yourself have requested and have demonstrated your immodesty to the other CB users.

Okay, maybe I misunderstood you but I believe you just said that IIT is your safety. That is preposterous.

You admit in your title that you have ok stats, then shoot down anyone who doesn’t think you’re a shoo-in to the top universities in the world. Please wake up.

man you remind me some kid living in his dream world. and please do not show your cheapness (by your parents I presume?) here.

Now I am seriously doubting the validity of your so called ‘hedge fund’ and even your business. I am now thinking if your business is even legit and just a fake.

IIT is no one’s safety

to indianmonster: stop being jealous

“Anyway, if I don’t get into ivy league, I can JUST go to india and study at IIT Ahemdabad which is one of the best technology colleges in the world, and then I can transfer to IIM.” (emphasis added)

In response to your statement, read what you yourself have written.

LMAO ‘jealous’ of you.

Who wouldnt be jealous a kid who has IIT as his safety. HAHA.

Alrighty then.

Sweet, It’s because it’s a template. You should still change aroun dsome of the stock photos jut because the’re disconcertingly similar:)

will u stop commenting if you have nothing to say? As for financial management, by the time you get out of whatever school you are going to and start looking for work, I will have a 7 year lead in terms of job experience. So, lets talk after forbes releases the list of the 100 richest people 25 yrs from now. FYI, Dhirubhai Ambani had no Ivy League education (I assume you know who he is).

So why are you so bent on going to Stanford/Columbia, etc. then? Just don’t apply to any US schools, go to your IIT, and go make your trillion dollars.

We should just let his thread quietly die.

I’d say match at BU, NYU, Northwestern.

Out of all the ivies, I’d say Wharton would be your best chance by looking at your ECs (however, M+T is a HUGE HUGE HUGE reach…you need VERY strong science credentials as well).

Pros: Very good ECs, deep in Business
Hedge fund could be an EXCELLENT thing to talk about

Cons: Mediocre test scores for Ivies, but well within range
AP score spread seems a bit…low

My suggestions: For your essay, please don’t talk about building your own computer–nothing substantial there. I’d say talk about your hedge fund (but that may seem a bit…haughty to some adcoms, so be careful there).

The hedge fund is a double edged sword–very impressive if introduced to them right, but also can absolutely crush your app if you seem too haughty about it or give off the impression that its just all smoke and mirrors (once again, it’s VERY hard to believe that a high school student can manage a TRUE hedge fund.)

Just my opinion (ranked from most chance to lowest): BU>NYU>NorthWest>>>>Wharton>Columbia>MIT=CalTech>Stanford=Yale=Harvard=M&T

rondo i would suggest reading the whole thread for your edification on the true nature of this child
