Okay history buffs lend me your ears and your heads!

Hey,

I am lost in a question. Anyone know of the similarities and differences in the causes and consequences of the French Revolution to the Haitian Revolution? I have no idea where to start or what to do. So I turn to you my virtual comrades to help me. Thanks.

Here's one similarity: the role of a class struggle in bringing about a revolution. The system in France didn't recognize the needs of the workers, and the one in Haiti was engineered largely by slaves. Both were uprisings against oppressive systems. A difference is that Haiti was a war for independence, while France was one of regime change. Consequences: both caused radical shifts in the way society was structured.

Also, if you want a good place to start an essay, look carefully at the ideas behind both of them, and try and build off that.

Thank you for pointing that out. Any others guys?

people from both sides were killed in both wars...so thats another similarity...........and something different..umm..well i dunno..

Both countries are on an island.

^You don’t need write that you’re from the south.
JKJKJKJKJKJKJK

I would be insulted if I could understand what you said.

He’s trying to use the fact that you’re from the south as an insult, but if he weren’t ignorant he’d know that the south is awesome.

Except for that Quacoh lives in it.

It’s called a joke. You said both France and Haiti are islands, so I brought up the redneck stereotype. Jesus, some people are so thin-skinned.
And no, the the Northeast is better. Why, you may ask? We kicked your butts in the Civil War.

Just joking, for those who don’t understand anything.

The South sucks.

France is on an island, as Eurasia is completely surrounded by water.

By that logic all the continents are “Islands”.
