I'm sure by now everyone sees the following message on his/her financial aid page:

"The following information is based on your status as a Freshman - Dorm/Board student receiving financial aid for the Fall-Spring Semesters.

blah blah blah

Your estimated cost of attendance is $58,620.00."

Which is slightly less than what someone posted earlier. The only difference is my travel expenses; it has decreased from $2000 to $850, as if they calculated what an average ticket might cost me to fly there.

IS THIS A SIGN PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A SIGN

This is probably me being even more stupid, but how are people accessing their financial aid pages? I keep seeing posts about this and have yet to figure it out.

It’s a sign the financial office calculates people’s COAs differently based on where they live, nothing more. What else can it signify? Everyone’s COA is slightly different.

@heyhohellno
I started lurking this and noticed the same thing you did. A few days ago, my COA was somewhere along the lines of 59,200 but now it dropped to 58,300. Maybe Ghostt is right and it’s just different calculations of the COA, or maybe (hopefully) it’s more than that.

My estimated COA is $58,020.00, which still leaves me at an estimated $250 of travel costs, something I don’t understand given that I live in across town in Portland…
