Okay, so I think I want to get a masters in mech/aero engineering…

Hello all you cool people.

Well, I think I want to do engineering. I was thinking about Nuclear, but that looks like it's just going to die a slow death. Aerospace sounds pretty cool. Any school recommendations?

Spring 2009 UC graduate. Majored in Math Science (that's basically applied math) minored in physics. Haven't talked to a professor since. And no, I don't want another math degree. One is enough!

GPA: 3.1
GRE: 790 Math, 670 Verbal
GMAT: 670 (62 Math/60 Verbal)

I took them once, and that's plenty.

Also, I'm starting on an MBA program at the local Cal State University, mainly to pass the time and defer my student loans. I plan on finishing the MBA along with an engineering degree [somewhere other than where I am now, living with my parents].

I'm looking for recommendations on some schools. None of that US News ranking crap--that's not what matters. I just want to know what y'all think of the schools and their programs. I'm primarily looking at these states California, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Texas, North Alabama (Huntsville), Hawaii (if they have anything good), and we can throw Boston in there too.

Some schools that have seriously caught my radar include University of Texas, NC State, UNC, University of Virginia, University of Maryland, MIT (pipe dream), UCs (but not UCLA, I'd like to ditch this city at some point). Also, along with social life, schools with spirit, pride, and sports are a good thing. It would be nice to have a team I could really cheer on for the rest of my life.

Thanks for any help!

Which Cal State Univ are you taking your MBA program at?
